After reading lot of reviews we were reluctant to stay at this hotel. Thought of atleast trying out for a night or two and ended up living for 5 nights. The main reason to choose this hotel was the location since it was close to all Disney and other parks. The second reason was they had a full kitchen and it was very handy for cooking late dinner after a long day at the park and for early breakfast. Walmart was within 5-7 minutes drive and other restaurants were within walking distance that made our stay very convenient. We had 2 young children 11& 9 and was able to accomodate all 4 of us and had a decent size kitchen. The carpet felt little soggy and the floors in the bathroom and kitchen were dirty. Overall a managaeble place if keep you your expectations to minimum. The front desk was very helpful and attended to our requests promptly. The internet connection was working only in the lobby area. We never tried the free breakfast. The pool was nice and clean but the water was not heated but with 70+ F in November it was quite comfortable. If you have small children we recommend to look for a better and clean hotel. We may stay at Rodeway Inn again.

My family and I traveled to Florida this past summer, and stayed in seven Choice Hotel affiliated partners. One of the them was the Rodeway Inn in Kissimmee, Florida where we stayed for two nites in August. Our experience at this location was not the lounging we expected from a Choice Hotel. It was rather quite disturbing. The counter staff were mostly rude, unprofessional, and lacked common sense and common courtesy..

We found cockroaches in the room, had hot water in the sink and shower and no cold water,. It was a miseralbe experience. Although, the price was right and the popular attracations were minutes away by car, you may want to consider staying at a higher end hotel or a nearby resort if you can afford it.

I admit the pool was admirable, clean and huge but the water levels were inaccurate causing a possible risk. The pool was overflowing with an estimate of 6 inches over the labeled depth, for example, 6 feet was actually 6 ft 6 inches and so on along the perimeter.

I must say after reading the reviews I was afraid to stay at this hotel. The hotel wasn't as bad as everyone was saying. The rooms were clean and it was great for the budget the money I saved staying here I used to treat my kids at Disney and the other parks around Orlando. I would definite stay again with my family. The kids had fun everyday they went swimming after being at the parks during the day. The only gripe I had was the internet was non exisient you had to walk to the hotel lobby if you wanted to use your laptop just for internet access and half the time the hotels router was down. But overall I would recommend this hotel.

when we arrived from a 16hr drive the front desk clerk was very rude and unprofessional. once we got our room it had a horrible odor as if the carpets were wet and never dried. the bathroom floor was disgustingly dirty and at 6am in the morning the bathroom ceiling started to leak. there was no internet connection like advertised. i do not recommend this place to anyone its in horrible condition and we were supposed to stay there for a week, we stayed for one night and went someone else and the front desk clerk did not even ask why we were leaving ahead of time.

We visited Orlando end of May beginning of June for a week’s holiday and booked last minute through the Flight Centre. After booking the holiday I did some investigation into the hotel and the reviews weren’t great but we thought as we weren’t going to be spending a lot of time there we’d deal with it and for the price we weren’t expecting much anyway.

When we arrived we had a nice surprise with the rooms and the general area (Old Town vicinity and loads of places to eat), although the rooms were a little musty they were cleaned and the towels replaced daily. The pool was nice, not too crowded during the day but quite a few people used it once it was dark.

The advertised breakfast was a mini pack of doughnuts (dry and disintegrated if they travelled in a bag for a few hours) but coffee, apple juice and orange juice was also provided – all this was to take-away in the reception of the hotel.

The free shuttles, were not what they seemed, the shuttles were not continuously going round but had a schedule where they went to the Magic Kingdom maingate, Epcot and a couple other Disney parks but the timing was awful – 7:30am to the Magic Kingdom and 10:30 am to Epcot are not great timings especially as the shuttles take nearly an hour when the local bus takes 10 minutes. Coming back from the Magic Kingdom maingate there were more shuttles every couple hours with the last one leaving at 11:30pm but again spending nearly an hour on the shuttle after a tiring day is not enjoyable. If you do want to get to Universal or Sea World this is not a free shuttle provided by the hotel (actually the free shuttles to Disney actually go to the hotel next door – the bus driver does not recognise when you say you’re going back to the Rodeway Inn Maingate even though there is about 100 yards between them!). You can get the shuttle to Universal or Sea World but you have to arrange this previously and it costs $12 per person return and you have no choice on the times going there and returning. Although the shuttle system is not ideal the local bus service (Lynx) is great and each bus has a timetable to which it runs with busses between every 10 & 20 minutes, the drivers are also really friendly and will tell you exactly how to get somewhere, which ticket is best for your journey and will let you know where to get off for your destination or change busses. A single on the bus is $2 and an unlimited day pass is $4. To get to Sea World from the hotel you need to get the 56 bus (this is on the same side of the road as the hotel just under the bridge by the petrol station) to the Disney maingate then (from the same stop you get off at) get the number 50 bus and ask when you get on for the driver to let you know when you’re to get off. To get to Universal you need to get the 56 to Disney maingate, then either the 50 or the 111 where you will ask the driver to let you know where you get off to get the number 8 bus, once on the number 8 bus let the driver know you are going to universal, they will tell you where to get off to get the final 36 bus (opposite side of road to the stop you get off at). Be prepared to travel for a few hours!

Overall our holiday was great just would have liked to be prepared for some of the journeys! Also getting from the airport you can get the 111 to Disney Maingate then the 56 to the hotel, otherwise use Mears costs $33 return and you arrange your return 24 hours before your departure (free phone number so you can call from the room), they will get you back to the airport at least 3 hours before your departure time (international) and allow an hour for the half hour journey due to traffic. Otherwise a taxi will cost you $60 upwards.

Also you will be charged $1.50 each day for use of the safe in the room and and extra $3.39 a day for it being so close to Disney - we were not informed of this when it was booked.

We found while we were in Orlando the service was absolutely excellent, with the exception of the hotel receptionists, when they are not s.l.o.w.l.y 'helping' someone they are sitting at the desk with headphones in - not great when you are trying to attract their attention!

First of all after reading the other reviews I asked Thomas Cook to change the hotel but they refused to change us. I am now glad they did not change us. The hotel is very good for the price paid, Its in a great location near supermarkets and the Old Town which has music on most nights free. The rooms are clean. You have TV, fidge and microwave. Ask for a second floor room as lower rooms in block 7 tend to floood with the heavy rain. The only bad thing is the reception staff who are very slow and not very helpful at any time. There is only one on duty at any time and take their time and you can wait up to a half hour or more to be served. Buses are handy outside the hotel. The breakfast is only a bun and a drink of coffee or orange juice, Overall a good hotel in a good location.

If you're looking for a low budget hotel near to Disney this is the place for you!
Stayed at the Rodeway Inn on December 21st 2008 and payed just $43 for the night (inc. tax)
Found the hotel pretty easily despite our directions stopping 0.7 miles away from where the hotel was actually located. Checked in with no problems and went straight to the room. On opening the door we were greeted with the smell of old cigarette smoke - not the nicest smell to enter a room to. One of the lights did not work in the room but otherwise everything was clean and worked well.
Overall the staff were fairly helpful. Rang the front desk to ask what time the Magic Kingdom opened the next day and the person I spoke to was non-forthcoming so I went to reception the next day and spoke to the woman selling the theme park tickets who was extremely helpful.
Was a bit disappointed with the "continental breakfast" which consisted of donuts and orange juice, but then I wasn't expecting much.
Best thing about this hotel is it's location! Literally a couple of miles from Disney. Took us probably 10-15 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom carpark from there. Also it is located on a busy street with plenty of bars and restaurants.
Overall I was impressed with the hotel and would probably stay there again if I needed a low budget hotel near Disney and Orlando.
