Our waiter was great, we had a 5 yr old with us and he brought her a cup that had glittering lights on it and it made her day. The food was good and well presented.

Thank Mimi B

Nice clean and well laid out building, lots of choice including the kids menu. My steak was cooked exactly as I asked, one point to note is that a tip is automatically added to your bill as a % of your final price

This is an old school steak house at it's best.

At first glance it looks like it's having an identity crisis - wrought iron reminiscent of old steak houses, marble table tops, lots of booths, pendant lamps and 3D wall pieces reminding me of Greek diners and sports memorabilia and TV screens looking like a sports bar....

But the menu is all old school steak house - choices are fairly limited to red meat, combos with red meat and seafood and a few other options for non steak eaters.

The bar menu has several beers on tap, a full bar and LOTS of options for cocktails in souvenir glasses.

Our server was attentive, very friendly and helpful - double fisting pitchers to keep our iced team and soda full. She brought us a small stainless steel bowl of homemade potatoes chips took our order and returned with a basket of French rolls.

My partner, who rarely eats red meat, went for the fried chicken and fries. I went here because I was craving red meat and went straight for the 12 ounce New York Strip with a baked potato and a House Salad.

The House Salad took me back to the '70's - mixed greens, red cabbage, pepperoncini pepper, black olives, carrot plank, tomato wedge, cucumber and a green onion sprig. The blue cheese dressing was a little flat; mayonnaise based with had a TON of crumbled blue cheese mixed in.

My partners fried chicken looked home breaded (as opposed to the premade 'honey stung" you get in some places) it was a nice sized portion a breast split in two, a thigh, a drumstick and two wings; while one of the breast pieces was a little dry the rest was pretty decent and came with a BIG pile of thick potato planks.

My Rare, New York Strip was nicely seasoned and cooked as ordered. It came with a nice, fresh, HOT baked potato with butter and sour cream on the side as well as a small pile of onion crisps (almost too few to mention).

From what we saw around us, the kids meals are a nice value, service while not fancy was attentive and the steaks and sides at surrounding tables were good size and came out of the kitchen fairly quickly.

This is NOT an upscale, fancy steak house - it's good basic food, done well, with basic, attentive service and was a good value for the potion sizes. It's a BIG comfortable place that is not trying to be anything but steakhouse.

We'll probably be back when we are in a red meat mood.

We visited the Black Angus with friends and we were seated straight away. Our first thoughts on looking at the menu was that it was quite expensive in comparison to other restaurants serving similar food. We did enjoy our meals, the ribs were very very nice. The service was good too.
