Everywhere was busy, but we managed to get a very good dinner here !
There were many empty tables (many !) but we still had to wait, along with several other people, for 30mins. It was clear there were not enough staff to cope with everyone and even the bartender was rushing around like crazy - so much so- we had to wait 10 mins to even get a drink and we were the only ones waiting to be served !
Despite all this, dinner was excellent - 3 of us went for the Sampler menu - 4 courses for $18 - and everything was well cooked. Our server, Rafael, was very good.
An excellent dinner at a very reasonable price.

We were turned off at the Macaroni Grill in Palm Springs well over ten years ago. It was amazingly bad...period.....on all objective measures. The local Chilli's was "2 hour wait"and reluctantly we went next door to the Grill. We had a gift card...same corporate chain...and we should have donated it to somebody. The place was flat awful. The service was sorry. They put our olive oil and herbs for the bread appetizer into the coffee cup dish! What a joke! The pasta was so over cooked, I had to scrape it off my teeth with tooth picks. They over charged us. It will be 20 years before I go back there....if ever! Run awwaaaayyyyy!

On vacation and took family member here for her birthday.
We love Macaroni Grill in STL. This one was bad, slow service and awful food. Dry pasta, mushy pasta, 100 year old vegetables. Manager made excuses about the cooks not cooking pasta correctly, etc. and took off $$ but we still paid $40.00 for a horrible BIRTHDAY dinner. We were still hungry when we left....franchise owner should be ashamed, can't imagine why Macaroni Grill would want their name on this eplace.

Busy place but with lousy service by wait staff especially - Jessie.

Poorly managed. Water does not have ice and waiters have to fill up bottles with ice water and the bottles have cracks on the top lip (transparent glass can get on your water without being visualized) and glass chip could be swallowed. The jug where they pour the water from leaks to the floor and can cause somebody to slip.

Saving on Parmesan cheese as none is available for the olive oil and bread.

Pasta definitely overcooked and far from al dente.

The bed for the fish was supposed to be sundried tomatoes and other vegetables with the orzo pasta but could not be identified as they were burned crisp and was black as charcoal. How could they serve this?

I would only provide a poor rating for a restaurant if the quality of food was very poor, or the management was dishonest. In this case, it's the latter.

I sat at the bar with my companion, and we each ordered a glass of chianti. The bartender offered a name brand without offering the house chianti, and we said "ok" because we were unaware there was a less expensive house brand. Only near the end of the meal did we notice that the menu includes a house brand. These tactics are dishonest, and the staff of the restaurant is well aware of that fact. The result was an upcharge on my bill for around $10. This restaurant is ver chaotic, and the bartender was actually yelling at diners during their meals. Instead of arguing the point, I paid the bill and left. Hanging out in a place with a bad vibe isn't worth $10.

It's a busy locations, and the crowd makes this restaurant a frantic place. Overall, it's poorly mananged.

Find another place for dinner!
