“Just as Pleasant as Before”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

We decided to take a spring-break trip to Florida to get some warm weather and booked once again at the Magic Tree for a week stay. As before, we did a 2 bedroom unit and got 402C (a ground level unit) which was good, as I had just had surgery on my foot and had to use a 'roller' cart my entire stay.

As our previous stays here, there was no issues with check-in or with the room. I had told them of my foot issue and asked for a room on the ground level; they set us up with one very close to one of the pool entrance gates which made it very nice as I spent most of the time there. Our room was fine, with an LCD TV in the main room and a 'picture tube' TV in the bedrooms. This room was nice in that it was on the north side of the property, so we didn't have a bunch of car/truck traffic passing by (last time we were on the south side). The unit again was fully furnished well beyond what we needed. We had no problems with any of the appliances or equipment during the stay other than a card key that stopped working after a couple of days.

Being early April, the weather was still cool in the evenings and the pool was heated to 88 which was just right. We had no problem getting a table with umbrella plus some lounge chairs in the pool area -- but then it was the week after Easter so it could have been due to the fact spring break was pretty much over for most schools. Since the last visit, two changes were observed: they added a few more tables with umbrellas around the pool (which was nice) but they did away with the help-yourself-to-towels bin at the pool. Instead, they put 6 large beach towels under our bathroom sinks to use which be swapped for clean ones at the desk or put in the basket for daily towel changes. When asked why, they said too many towels were disappearing. Bummer; I really liked being able to get a towel at any time. But this was better than a 'card' that you had to trade in. And we did get 6, so we had plenty.

The staff was always friendly, saying hi or asking how it was going. There was fresh, free popcorn in the lobby every time I went for some and they also had a daily movie showing if you wanted to get out of the sun for a while in the afternoon (I don't remember this happening the last time we stayed here). The grounds were clean and well maintained, and appeared to have had some improvements (seemed like less over-grown with bushes and trees). We did have chainsaw noise one day as they trimmed a couple of large trees near the pool but it was in the late morning so didn't impact us too much.

There were no other improvements or changes that we observed from our stay over a year ago. It was an enjoyable, quiet, relaxing stay, just what we wanted.

Room Tip: The '400' series rooms are on the side away from the main entrance and have less traffic noi...

Magic Tree is an older timeless resort. The resort has wonderful amenities pool, jacuzzi, workout room and game room for children. The resort also has wonderful grills to kick off that awesome family barbecue. Staff are accommodating to guest needs. The rooms are nice, neat and clean. The resort is centrally located and minutes away from Disney.

I hope this review can clear up any doubts people may have if they are considering staying at the Magic Tree Resort.

First things first, the exterior of the resort. Admittedly they are not the most attractive looking units on the block. Why? Well, quite simply, 40 years ago this was an old Rodeway Inn. But don't let that detract you. That is the only downfall to this place!

They have taken what used to be two hotel rooms and converted them into large, spacious one and two bedroom timeshare units.

Each unit has a full kitchen equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink. Bowls, plates, utensils, and cookware are also provided. The living room floors are ceramic tiled to provide a nice clean environment. Off of the kitchen is a living area with queen sized sleeper sofa, chair, TV and entertainment center. As a side note, the sleeper sofa is very comfortable. Not the typical kind that you can feel a bar in your back all night. It is more like a thick memory foam mattress.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, dresser, TV, night stands, and closet.

The bathroom area is sort of small, but definitely adequaate and tastefully decorated with tile surround in the tub.

As other reviewers have noted, the grounds are well kept, the staff is friendly and willing to meet your needs. There is a heated pool which is right in the middle of the property (Basically every unit is poolside) and closes at 10:00pm

From what I gather, most of the owners are elderly and the place stays quiet as a mouse!

Amenities and activities include: Free popcorn and coffee in the lobby, free book and DVD rentals, fitness center, hot tub by the pool, tennis court, shuffle board, movie nights in the lounge.

Very easy access to Walt Disney World, only 3 minutes to World.

We would definitely consider staying here again. Great value for your money!

Magic Tree is an older resort, but very clean and well kept!

Kitchen is fully stocked. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Pool was clean and warm. Close to Disney without the high price to stay there. Would definitely go back!

I expected nicer, based on website photos...our room was an end unit so we didn't have good natural light.
we were close to laundry though.
kitchen was good,I wished for some cleaning products as there was no cleaning all week(trash and clean towels are not daily maid service to me)
Pool was nice
Fitness center OK
Staff very friendly,great location.

This was our fourth stay at the Magic Tree Resort and seems to get better with each visit. Rooms appeared to be better kept and updated since our last stay in 2011. The landscaping has been updated too and is a pleasant addition to the resort. The location, as always, is ideal for a Walt Disney World vacation. And there are many restaurants, gift shops, and shopping choices close by. I would highly recommend this resort to any family with children, as the rooms are spacious and the living areas are more than adequate. We stayed for 10 days and did not have one thing to complain about during our time there. Looking forward to our next visit to the resort.

Room Tip: Try not to stay at the back of the resort because of spotty wireless service.

My wife and I spent a week at Magic Tree thanks to mom and RCI. To start off the front-desk staff were very friendly and check-in was quite fast. When we got there the Ottawa Senators game was on in the "owners lounge" just off the lobby so instantly I liked the place.

We had a real nice one bedroom suite with a view of the hottub and pool. The kitchen was fully stocked and the appliances appeared to be quite new. The king size bed was a little firm but doable. Overall the suite exceeded our expectations. Mu only complaint was that the cable-tv channel lineup was poor.

We were at Magic Tree during a quiet week so it was very relaxing and there was no problem having our choice of loungers by the pool.

Magic Tree is just off Irlo Bronson which has all the services you would need except banks! We had to drive for several miles and to a different town to find a functioning ATM. The resort is very close to Disney and Interstate 4 if you want to go into Orlando or go to Tampa.

Can hardly wait to go back and we may buy a timeshare there - there are lots for sale on-line.

Room Tip: If you have a choice I would ask for a first floor room facing the pool.
