“Good Disney Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2014 via mobile

Our family of 4 just completed a 7 night stay at Art of Animation - we had a Lion King suite, which provided extra space during our stay, especially having 2 full bathrooms + both the extra beds - pull out sofa & drop down trundle were of good quality...

Resort campus is spread out enough that it doesn't feel overcrowded - main pool has plenty of kid-friendly activities; 2 smaller pools, especially the Cars pool, was much more low key & relaxing. Compliments to the Lifeguard staff for being extremely attentive without interfering with the children's fun.

When I traveled with my family in December, we stayed at Port Orleans. While that was a great experience, it was not very "Disney"-esque. This hotel is the ultimate Disney experience. When you walk in, there are large drawings of all the animated characters and walking to your room is like being a part of the movies! They play songs throughout all the different areas and have these huge statues of the characters that you can take pictures of. The pools are large and very decorated and the rooms are like staying with Ariel, Simba, and Nemo! We stayed in the King Triton so we did not have the chance to see the family style suites. I can't wait to come back and have the kids see what I did! My only complaint was that the buses to not run as frequently as they seem to do at the other resorts. We had to wait, at times, close to 30 minutes for buses, both at the parks and at the hotel.

Stayed for 4 nights and since it was first time in Disney, we found this hotel very convenient. Rooms were nice and service was good. Hotel is very big, so, its quite a walk to reach to room. We were not driving and that added to the walk. Coming back after a day spent in disney park, walk was surely tiring. Next time, even we stay in Disney hotel, renting car helps. Hotel is maintained well and airlines check-in counter is also a big help.

Food court in the hotel is not good. Construction was on but main issue is variety. Breakfast was okay but dinner is surely not up to the mark.

Some I have been to disney many times and stayed at many of their hotels in every price range. This is by far your best bang for your buck. The hotel is very clean with a huge pool that is very easy to watch your children in. The cafeteria is awesome with many good choices. The turkey burger's are great. Kids will love the décor in the rooms. The rooms are on the small side compare to some of the more expensive places. But if you don't plan on being in them a lot this is the perfect place to stay.

This hotel ticked all the boxes. It was clean and tidy and the minute you walk into it you are in the Disney bubble. The staff at reception were helpful and cheerful and gave the impression that they really wanted you to enjoy your holiday.
The room was clean and tidy and cleaned regularly. The food is basic but good and the eating area can get busy. You are warned. The grounds of the hotel are lovely with great swimming pools and you can walk over a bridge to the Pop Century hotel.
What I did notice this year was that the price of the taxi journeys have shot up. What I didn't know was that reception have a list of the average fares to local destinations until after I had been ripped off by a taxi driver.
What I do find annoying, which is a general moan, is that the bar staff appear to expect to be tipped for pouring a drink, which I feel is a bit over the top.
The bus service was good to the parks as you would expect.

We chose a family suite – My husband, two kids, in laws and I. The in laws took the bedroom and we took the main living area. I slept with our 9 yr. old on the table/bed and my husband slept with our 5 yr. old on the pull out sofa. I thought the rooms were quite cramped, especially once we pulled the beds out etc. Not a great night’s sleep!

The hotel itself is great – fantastic pool area, although we didn’t get to use it much. Great gift shop, which we visited every day! An arcade the kids enjoyed. The cafeteria dining was not very impressive – you could use your meal plan there, but it was quite confusing and food was not that great.

This was our first family trip to Disney – 4 days 4 parks…I would highly recommend a day to just chill and recoup…and enjoy the pool area!

Room Tip: Leave some time in your trip to relax and enjoy the pool area and hotel. Family suite is smaller th...

Well having returned yest from a 2 wk holiday at art of animation, we are pleased with our choice of resort. Prior to going I saw some reviews on trip advisor and was unsure what to expect: people stated that the resort's restaurant and car park were too far from rooms: well it is what it says on the title "a resort" so all amenities were in appropriate places, yes had to walk places but it wasn't exactly that far!! From the moment we arrived found staff were pleasant and very helpful. The check in/out process exceptionally smooth. The public areas were clean, our room ( little mermaid room) was very comfortable and what we needed for our stay. It was clean and kept clean throughout our stay. The food choices were adequate and tasted fine. The bus transfers to each park were good and regular. All in all a good resort to yourselves base for a Disney holiday, we will be recommending this resort to friends/family, we will definitely be planning a return visit.
