“The Perfect Family Home”
Reviewed May 28, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Our family stayed at Robson's Retreat between April and May 2017 for 4 weeks and it was the perfect holiday home and destination.

We've been to Florida half a dozen times before so we know the area well and that Kissimmee is the perfect location for a family. After reading the reviews for Robson's Retreat we knew it'd be the best place to go.

The most important thing to mention is how friendly and helpful Andrew is. This makes a huge difference when booking a holiday, particularly one that for most people is a big adventure and you want everything to go right for your family. Andrew gave us lots of useful information before we travelled, let us use his SatNav and there was lots of useful information about the home when we arrived too. Andrew also took the time to phone us the day after we arrived to check everything was ok and if we needed anything, then left us to enjoy this wonderful home.

The home is amazing and the best we've stopped in so far and at a great rate for the month too. You're greeted by a huge staircase and those in the master bedroom are in for a treat as it's huuge and finished to a high spec with adjoining master bathroom suite. All of the rooms are well furnished with TV's and the game area at the top of the stairs is great for teenagers. We took our 3 girls and they loved to play hide and seek around the house and they spent most of their time in the pool and the games room.

The pool has a useful safety fence around it which is easily removed and there's plenty of space for a couple of families to sit and enjoy the space outside. The barbecue is enormous and you'll just need to switch out for a full tank if it's empty and you plan on using it a lot (we were lucky as there was enough left over to use it for the few times we wanted, we just had to give it a good clean first). The pool is kept incredibly clean by the pool man so there's a minimal amount of work to scoop any small bits off the top once a day. The spa is nice to relax in, especially with the sound of the small waterfall off the edge and there are soft sprays that aren't quite Jacuzzi sprays but are nice to keep the water moving. The outdoor toilet helped avoid any kids slipping on the tiles in the house too.

The games room is great, particularly the pool table and unlike most villas we've stopped in once the ceiling and portable fans are on for 15 minutes it's nice and cool, so it's fine to stay in there for a while.

Kitchen and living room are well equipped, with the oven, fridge and TV being the biggest I've seen and it's nice that there's ample channels and Netflix on for the kids for evenings or whenever the weather's not great (we couldn't find the Netflix password but we have an account so used our own).

There's plenty of spaces for dining, which is nice as we invited family over for a couple of days and of course there's ample space to host everyone with the number of rooms and bathrooms (it was also nice to have plenty of towels and a huge washing machine and tumble dryer).

There were lots of different kitchen appliances to use and Walmart is just around the corner for shopping. We went to Publix too, which is a little nicer (more like Sainsbury's) and has amazing fresh sandwiches at the deli counter, but Walmart was great for not only good value food but lots of other items e.g. pool floats, fishing equipment, toys, tech etc. It's also easier to order items to the home than most places we've been to (FedEx deliver straight to the door, so we signed up for a free Amazon US Prime account for a month and got next day delivery on some items - the US Postal Service don't deliver to rental homes anymore so I'd avoid ordering anything from anywhere else just in case).

Whilst we didn't go, Medieval times is just around the corner too. There are lots of shops and fast food places within 10 minutes, as well as some great golf courses (Oaks National, Kissimmee and Falcon's Fire were great courses and great value and Celebration was good value and an impeccable course - book online with a broker rather than direct and find tee times that are half price, as early afternoon seem to be quieter and cheaper). Celebration is 10 minutes away too a great place to have lunch and spend half a day (we went to a Boston family restaurant on the front which was very popular) and on the way back it's a nice to spend a few hours in Old Town Kissimmee to browse some local shops and spend time at Fun Spot with the kids (Saturday is best to take in the car show and we found Sun on the Beach to be a family friendly bar with small but appetising eats). We also found it easy to order pizza from Papa Johns a couple of times too.

15-20 minutes away and you have most things at your fingertips i.e. all the Disney, SeaWorld and Aquatica parks and all of the discount stores, where we found Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue to be the best (make sure you pick up the $5 visitor passport at the front desk as you can claim 10-20% on top of discounts and look out and ask the shop assistants for extra discounts you should be aware of as there's almost always another 10% to get - we also realised that re-visits to shops get you higher discounts e.g. Ralph Lauren gave us a 25% discount voucher if we bought again within a fortnight, so it may be best to buy one item and go back later). We went to an Orlando City football match too, so if you search for tickets online you can get similar priced seats than at home and there's a great atmosphere in the stadium (if you don't like the heat too much then get seats higher up as when the sun starts to come down you can bake in the front rows). Disney Springs is within this distance too, which is a great place to eat out at night with the family, with a huge amount of restaurants to choose from (we found lots of Uber drivers in the area, so download the app for cheap taxi fares so you can have a cocktail or two - we found eating on the boat deck of Paddlefish to be the best for couples, T-Rex for kids and be prepared to queue if you want to have a night at the House of Blues - shopping is a bit more expensive here but there is a huge Disney store). Right at the edge of 20 minutes you have all the fun on International Drive (we loved to play mini-golf at Pirate's Cove as they had a special route for prams, quick lunch at Shake Shack for the best burgers in the world, Cheesecake Factory for the best deserts and dinner at Maggiano's our favourite family restaurant).

It's an hour to an hour and a half to Busch Gardens, Cocoa Beach and the Kennedy Space Centre, but it's definitely worth the 2hr tip to Siesta Key Beach for the day (voted America's best beach and I can see why).

There's nothing not to like about Robson's Retreat and whilst we never stop at the same place twice we'd definitely consider it here. We had a pesky racoon that kept tipping our bins over (where we assume people had previously put food outside rather than using the food compactor in the kitchen), we ended up buying a new pram as the one in the house had seen better days and the kids kept asking where the scooters where as they saw the photos and the thank you letters about how much fun they were but they didn't seem to be in the house, but that was nothing we couldn't handle.

If you're planning your first trip to Florida with your family then this is the best place to experience it at it's finest. Thanks Andrew and hope to be back soon!

“Wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed June 27, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Six of us (all adult group) stayed at this beautiful home for two weeks in June 2016. It is very spacious and beautiful and very well equipped which made cooking/washing/drying an easy task. It has a very homely feel and we soon relaxed into the property and enjoyed it fully. The pool is lovely any time of day/night and the wifi is fast. The location is also ideal and with ease you can reach Disney/Universal in 30 minutes max there are also countless eating places within 3-4 miles including a supersize Walmart (with a McDonalds inside lol).We also fished the local lakes and caught Bass (for the fishermen out there!!)
It was a pleasure to stay in this wonderful property

“Fantastic spacious accommodation in great location”
Reviewed June 12, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Quiet residential location a short distance from all the attractions. 20 min drive from major parks and half an hour from the airport. Property & surrounding area felt safe & extremely well maintained. Lots of space with gorgeous pool. Ample beach & bath towels for guest use. Immaculately clean. Owner was extremely helpful & answered any questions we had. We would highly recommend staying here & hope to do so again in the future.

“Florida home from home”
Reviewed May 22, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

For our first time to Florida we decided a book a house as we were a party of 9 and this was the most cost effective way to stay. Initially on booking we found the price to be very reasonable when compared to others. The pictures looked great and really had everything we needed.
When we arrived at the house and as always a little apprehensive of what we may find, this immediately went after entering the house. It was more than we expected, a very spacious, clean and welcoming home from home. The kids absolutely loved the pool and the BBQ was a nice bonus, gas was easy enough to get just don’t walk through Walmart with it :)
Everything worked as was described, air con was great, no problems with any of the bathrooms, Wi-Fi was constant and the TV setups were really good in every room and great sofas. The ladies also loved the laundry area. The kitchen had everything we needed full of cookware and utensils.
We had a sticky door problem but called the service as advised and the problem was sorted in no time, nice friendly efficient staff should any problems occur.
Overall it is set in a safe gated community, very clean and well maintained area, nice garden quiet at night. Has literally everything a large family needs for a busy time in the parks.
