My daughter and I went on an airboat excursion when we were in Ft. Lauderdale in August 2011. It was enjoyable, but very short. Our tour with A Ultimate Airboat blew that trip out of the water. In comparison, this trip was more relaxed and informative. Any question we asked was answered. We were able to point out what we wanted to see and Captain Bill stopped for us to observe. We saw many species of birds, turtles, bald eagles, deer and alligators. Captain Bill stopped to point out different species of animals and plants along with sharing many stories of his adventures on the lake. We booked an hour long excursion and we definately got our money's worth. One note for travel, please give yourself extra time to reach your destination. Mapquest gave us a travel time of 25 minutes and it was definately another 20 minutes longer than that with traffic. Also, they ask you to arrive a half an hour earlier than your scheduled tour time. This is because your registration location on Route 192 is about 5 miles away from the actual tour location. You sign in at the Florida Visitor's Center located at the junction of Route 192 and the Florida Turnpike and they give you directions to the actual boat location. Very personal and fun. A good alternative to the parks in Orlando.
