We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and even happier to hear that you will be back! We only have a few of those double king rooms, so if you liked that and would like to have that bed type again, please let us know when you make your reservation so that we can do our best to accomodate you! The best way to do that is to book your stay with the hotel directly at Ramadagateway.com, our in house reservation department.
Thank you again for taking the time to comment on your stay!

We stayed at this hotel with friends, we were six pensioners and were visiting "The Parks", Disney and Universal. For four of us it was the first time in Florida but the other two had been before. The hotel was chosen because I had stayed there five times previously and found it adequate as a base. It is ideal for Disney as it is only a couple of miles from the parks and around eleven miles from Universal. The hotel itself is clean and dry but is in need of a face lift, it is very dated, the two pools are never full of people and there are towels which you use then throw in the bin to be cleaned.
The safety deposit room is ideal and you can go there whenever you need to, although this also needs a little refurbishment.
There is a laundry with washing machines and driers, TIP, take your own washing tablets/powder, and if you are a tea drinker take your own preferred tea bags.
The maintenance staff are usually very quick to respond to complaints, we phoned to say the hair drier wasn't working and in less than five minutes the maintenance man was there and pointed out that the override button had tripped and the drier was working perfectly. I think the worst thing about the hotel were the air conditioners, they were very loud and disturbed sleep.
There are ample eating places around and one of the best value was Golden Coral of which there are about three in a five mile radius. TIP. Before three oclock is the cheapest price, then between three and six is a little more expensive and after six is the most expensive. If you are a pensioner just ask for "seniors rates" that way you get it a little cheaper. The staff fall over themselves to be helpful and really make you feel welcome, TIP, ask for a drink to go before you leave and you get your drink of choice in a cup with a lid and straw. TIP, ask for cold drinks without ice, that way you get the drink that doesn't get watery as it gets to the bottom of the glass, it's cold enough anyway without the ice. Please don't forget to tip the staff, they get minimum wages and are grateful for the extra cash.

Room Tip: rooms in the tower are best but more expensive, rooms overlooking the pools are a little noisy and...

Stayed at this hotel previously and hour it was good. 5 years later returned and was a little bit disappointed to be honest. Paid for upgrade to tower room on advice of some of reviews on here and had room on 3rd floor. However I wouldn't bother again. Room very dated, smelt musty and in serious need of redecoration. The rooms over looking pool seem much better and cleaner although don't have a flat screen TV.
Plus side was beds comfortable and room was cleaned daily. Staff were friendly in restaurant and made fuss of our 5 month old son. Buffet Breakfast only cost $5 or was free if had continental. We stopped for three nights before travelling around Florida and are staying again for four nights in two weeks time before flying back home. We will stay in poolside room and won't bother upgrading so will be able to give good comparison.
Overall cheap and basic but you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Was not impressed with Tower Room and wouldn't bother paying to upgrade.

We bought this hotel as part of a British Airway Flight & Hotel package. It was the cheapest package available. We had looked at this hotel when we were looking to book for Christmas 2011. That time we booked another hotel and paid a quite a few dollars more. This time we went ahead and booked for 3 weeks. Included in the package were a complementary continental breakfast & a room upgrade. We paid for a standard room.

At the time of booking the reviews were not too bad, but as the date of the holiday approached the reviews took a down turn. We started to worry and even contacted a few reviewers, to get more advice; I rang BA to enquire about changing hotels.

On arrival a pleasant check in clerk assigned a standard room with a pool view, and gave us the breakfast vouchers. The room was, to my relief OK, I wasn’t expecting 5 stars, but everything worked and it was clean.

There was an external corridor (not my favourite), so we kept the curtains drawn when we was in the room. There was two double beds (not the most comfortable, I’ve slept in Orlando), a small fridge, a coffee maker, an old style TV on a set of 6 large drawers. In the vanity area was space to hang clothes (no wardrobe), and a separate bathroom, with in bath shower. There was no in-room safe, but there were free safe deposit boxes near reception.
The free in room Wi-Fi was not the fastest or that reliable but later on; in a different room it was better.

The room over looked the main pool, and for the most part was quiet; we were on an early to bed early to rise type of holiday, so that was important to us. There was the odd night that conversation could be overheard, but the AC could drown this out.

We only ate breakfast in the hotel; we had a free continental breakfast, which was fruit, yogurt, toasted Bagel or toast with preserves plus hot beverage and juice. We upgraded to a buffet breakfast a few times, $6.10 (which included the tip (on the bill)). This included cooked to order eggs, cereal, waffles, bacon & sausage. There was a deli, bar and the restaurant, was open for evening meals. We didn’t even manage the manager’s complementary drinks Mon to Fri evening, for an hour.

We spent some time by the pool, and there was pool towels included. The sun was over the pool for most of the day, there was the odd umbrella for shade.

During the last week, we upgraded to the “deluxe” rooms, this cost about $16 a day from the Standard room (garden view). This was a much brighter room (internal corridor), with lighter bed covers and better bed linen & pillows. The room included a micro wave, a flat screen TV, but still no safe. The Wi-Fi was better in this room also, (my better half was able to watch UK TV on the iPad).

We were on the 6th floor (of 8), and could see the fireworks at Epcot & MK. I would not like to be on a lower floor, or even overlooking the hotel grounds, (even number rooms). However there is an outside balcony on every floor at the side of the hotel where you can see the fireworks at MK.
I enjoyed the deluxe rooms but to be honest, we were happy with the pool view room. This was handy for the car and the pool.

To sum up
Pro’s :- Price, Clean rooms, Friendly Staff
Con’s:- not the Ritz but I didn’t pay for the Ritz.
Would I stay here again YES, for the price, very good value.

The hotel was easy to find and had a black Angus and a ponderosa within walking distance and a 7 11 across the road.
We were greeted by friendly staff and given directions to our room, we had a room at the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet. The room was clean and was cleaned and tidied everyday. We were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a tower room but didn't bother as we just wanted a base and wasn't planning on spending much time in the room, we used the pool which was un heated everyday and thank to the Florida sun was always warm.
Enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay at the ramada gateway again.
Thank you for a great stay.

I would strongly reccommend staying at this hotel if you are on a budget as given the price I thought it was excellect value. We stayed in one of the tower rooms which I would strongly recommend paying that bit extra for as the motel rooms do not look as good and some rooms people can walk past and look straight in your room so you would have to keep your curtains shut.

Our room has a great view from the third floor of Kissimmee, it was a large room with two beds and a plasma TV (I did notice the motel style rooms still have old style TVs), the room was clean and the room service did an excellent job each day of keeping the room clean. The bathroom reasonably clean although did not look brand new and there was a small kitchen area, although there was only a microwave and fridge, no cutlery or plates, although you can get plastic cutlery from the 7eleven nearby. The rooms have good air conditioning and a good selection of TV channels. However there is no in room safe you have to use the safes behind reception which can be a bit of a hassle when you need to take money out etc.

The hotel itself looks really nice the lobby looks good and there is a concierge to help with tickets, the restaurant was nice and very good value compared to nearby places to eat with a decent selection. The breakfast menu is OK however if you are interested in the breakfast buffet I would not reccomment it from here as it is $10 and the selection is not great although there is someone available to make on demand waffles and omlettes, you may wish to go to the nearby Sizzler where breakfast buffet is $3.99 with a coupon although this does not include drinks.

There is also a small sports bar which is nice and while we where there they do managers reception thing where you can get a free beer or wine between 5 and 6 if you are taking a break from the parks one day.

There is a very nice pool which was not busy at all as it was early Sept so on average there was probably two people in the pool.

The hotel is very close to disney if you are not driving they have a shuttle to Epcot center or Magic Kingdom which the coach takes around 15-20 minutes, the only problem is the schedule is not great as the bus has pick up times between 9-12 but will not pick you back up until 21:30 or a later bus. However an idea if you dont want to stay this late is to get a free bus to the nearest Disney hotel the animal kingdom lodge and get a taxi back to the hotel for around $11.

I felt the staff where very friendly, the staff at reception area also ok to deal with although the customer service is friendlier in the restaurants.

The only reason I gave this a 4 out of 5 review was because there was an issue when checking in, I knew I booked a tower room and paid $3 a night more for this and on my reservation it said tower room, however they initially gave me a motel room, I have to go back and it took a lot of faffing around to figure out what room I was in even though it said on my reservation a tower room, not a great first impression or a good thing to do when we had been on a long flight, but that was the only negative experience in the 10 days we where here.

Room Tip: Choose a tower room that looks out onto the front.
