“A nice lunch/dinner with awesome views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

We found this place as we searched for BEst burger in Marathon, tried it and was very pleased, after a few days we went back for our last meal in the Keys.
Had a great waitress serve us, very good food! Bar if you drink too! Will be back!

“Very informal outdoor dining - ideal for lunch on a nice day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

I went there yesterday for an early light dinner with a few friends and liked what I found. My choice was the grilled shrimp sandwich and it was done very nicely. Their french fries were great. I would have both again. My buddy had the Bacon Swiss Angus Burger and he said it was really good. I thought it was a funky cool place and the staff treated us great -- very friendly. Everyone in our little group of 6 was happy.

It appears that it is a place that caters to mostly locals, as 4 out of the 6 in my group live in the Keys -- and one lived in South Florida for over 50 years. It was not the first time there for a few of the guys in my party. This is the perfect place for a laid back meal outside (2nd floor) overlooking the water. It's actually located on the upper level roof of a marina building in a marina area.

TIP: It's not exactly easy to find. You have to turn onto Oceanview Avenue (Marathon) and head toward the ocean side of Marathon. It's all the way at the tail end of the street in the marina area. (Their instructions are: 1200 Oceanview Avenue -- at the end of 15th street.) And, when I say the tail end of the street, I mean ALL THE WAY at the very end. You will pass boats in their slips on the right and find parking on the left. Park and walk to the building at the far end. You will see the Burdines sign and will go upstairs to the roof of the 2 story building. It overlooks the inlet to Boot Key and has a view of the old Boot Key Bridge.

“Great view bad fish basket”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

This is a off the beaten track place near the old Boot Key bridge with a great view from the second floor deck I ordered the fish basket and my wife ordered the fish Ruben. I was expecting to receive a hand cut and breaded fried fish filet as is common in such eatery's. I received a machine made plate of 4 pieces if Indi script fish . I ate 1 piece and had to go to the restroom to hurl it The Ruben was OK Great view but watch out

I am very sorry you did not like the Fish Finger Basket. I can assure you it is not a machine cut piece of fish. We hand cut our fillets and then fry them. Please contact me for a refund. Sincerely, Randy GM

“Much better restaurants in the area!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

The food was ok. The staff not friendly at all. The view was nice but there are better places! We had the hush puppies - they were good but the cheese was not melted on them - just shredded cheese - but the food was not hot enough to melt the cheese. The only fresh fish they had was mahi mahi - so that was also a disappointment!

I apologize for the staff. Sometimes we get a little overwhelmed around the holidays. We are working on a solution to melt the cheese a little better on our hushpuppies. Sincerely, Randy GM
