“RV CAMPING”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

W e stayed at Curry Hammock State Park for 2 weeks.not a day was boring.the park is very clean and all about nature.during the day we went fishing, looking for lobsters...had several cookouts at the day use park.watch the guys kayaking ,wind surf.at night the sky is filled the stars.saw quite a few falling stars !!!great experience with the family.not to great for swimming due to the sea weeds that grow along the shore line that helps the turtle and other marines survive.the most impressive part were the toilets !!! hard to explained.they are a modern letrine that recycles.we called it the" blackholes " iam sure any visitor will laugh at the first impression and experience adding up the " breese way at the blackwhole " funny :) the volunteers did a wonderful job!!! thanks for all the coco's we got.thanks to don, gaile, cinnnamon and blake see you again !!! :)

“Great Kayaking”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

The little park is a gem! The kayaking set up is so easy--you rent the kayaks as you enter the park. They give you a paddle and life vest and seat that you install when you select your kayak on a rack right next to put in. The put in area is very nice and sandy. There is a great trail around the island that includes and exciting and little spooky paddle through the mangroves. Saw some great fish and little Eagle rays. It was a lovely paddle.

“Nice place for Kayaking!”
Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

We have never really hung out on the Beach here but it was nice & clean. Smaller than Bahia Honda or Sombrero Beaches.

We went Kayaking twice while Vacation in Mid-July. Once you get in the shallows if you are a Shark person, Like me! Then this is the place to be. We saw 2 Bonnetheads & countless Baby Nurse Sharks. The Bonnets were probably babies as well but they do not get very big so it was hard to tell. We also saw several baby Eagle Rays & 2 baby Southern Sting Rays. One of the Eagle Rays FLEW under our Kayaks! It was so cool!

If you take the long route, which they will show you in the office then there is what I like to call now, Cormorant Island. There were at least a 100 of them. We also saw an Osprey & Pelican & another bird I did not know what it was. The water is calm while in between the Islands.

So if you love Nature, & want to see Wildlife then Kayak here! The last time we went was back in 2011 & I am sad we haven't been back until now, this will be a yearly thing for us as long as we vacation to the Keys.

Keep in mind it was July, so there's more activity with baby animals, so sightings could be different :)

“Nice and Quiet the way we like It”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

Went here in April and loved the small and quiet campground. Not a lot of traffic and the beach was very private. Clean bathrooms and well kept up. We have camped all around Florida but havent been able to get in the Keys. Glad we booked 9 months in advance because its always full. That should tell you how nice it is. Will go back and stay longer next time.
