We got there a bit after 6 and they let us in for free til sunset; normally it costs a few dollars. We tried our hand at fishing off the rocks at the end of the beach with a few other people but nobody was catching anything. Nonetheless it was very nice with the clear water and the late sun on your back and the mangroves around. There's a nice kid's playground and shower as well.

Thank saikou

Being in the Florida Keys is always a pleasure, anywhere. We have the luck to find an space in this nice state park just a few days before our arrival (usually it is full). Neat, very clean and well maintained campsites, surrounded by vegetation so you have privacy. We had partial view to the ocean (gorgeous!!) and had the opportunity to be neighbors of a couple of cardinals that sing for us at the sunrise... just fabulous! Nice beach for sunbathing but not for swimming (shallow waters) but great for kayaking! We and the kids did kayak right in front of the beach and in the canals..., a superb experience! Highly recommended! We only thing that will do this park better is if they put fire rings in the campsites to do the fire at night.

Small park. One of few sandy beaches in the keys. Quiet area. Campground was full midweek so reserve if you want to camp. Kayaks available for rent. Definitely a repeat.

if you just want to hike then no need to pay the park fee. the actual hiking trail is across the street from the park and it is free. We paid and drove around until we realized it
