We enjoyed our visit at the Sea Turtle Hospital! The kids learned alot of about the turtles in the water and loved watching them. We will go back during our next trip to the keys!

“Great way to spend a few hours!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

Today we decided to take a ride down to Marathon to check out the Turtle Hospital. We have been living down here in the keys first as part-timers, and now full-timers and have heard all good things about this attraction. It definitely stood up to its reputation! The tour is very educational and informative. We took our 8 year old boy who is very interested and knowledgeable in marine life and it was a great experience for all of us. Our guide was perky and passionate...she started with a slide show and talk that was accompanied by hands on props, followed by a stop into the actual hospital where the surgeries are done, and then out to the pools where the "patients" and resident sea turtles are kept. It especially hit home with us as we are out on the water whether by boat or paddle board almost everyday, and we are even more equipped with knowledge on how to help protect and support these beautiful creatures. I would recommend this attraction for people of all ages from any walk of life!

“Great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

This is a wonderful place to visit if you are interested in sea life or the oceans. It goes way beyond a typical tourist type aquarium and gives you an in depth education on sea turtles and the challenges they face in our modern world. After a slideshow presentation on the turtles that is very informative on the different species and hazards to the turtles, you get to go and view the turtles that they are currently rehabbing. There are also about 14 turtles that are permanent residents there due to complications that don't let them be released.
All in all it is a very informative and cool stop on a FL Keys vacation.

Very interesting. Our daughter was there this week and they even saw an operation on a turtle that had to have his shell fixed.

“Wonderful Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

This facility is not only a real treat for the locals, as well as vacationers, but provides a wonderful service. The staff is extremely informative, patient in detailing information and the work that is being done here. CALL AHEAD EARLY!!! Reservations fill up quickly, so don't be afraid to book your tour a week before you arrive in Marathon. I wouldn't miss it!
