Everyone must learn about sea turtles and how to save and protect them. We highly recommend this for everyone in the family (all ages). The staff was great, the gift shope was great and everyone was very informative.

“Great to learn and see how the turtles are being nursed back to health and cared for.”
Reviewed October 6, 2012 via mobile

This is such an interesting visit. If you are a caring person you will be touched by the level of care for the turtles. The staff are really nice and informative. They teach you about the different types of turtles that there are and what can happen to them and how this centre helps them. It's a must to do, interesting and educational.

“Very interesting”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

It was a $15.00 entry fee, for a 90 minute tour of the facility. Every one in the group was fascinated by the work that is done here. Turtles that are sick or injured are brought here for treatment. I've never seen sea turtles before except for movies. They are so interesting, and so important to our planet. The people that work there are totally dedicated to their mission. When we left, we were all very aware of what more we can all do to help save our oceans and the creatures that live there. Even kids were drawn in and very interested in the whole presentation. I'm glad we went

An absolutely wonderful experience for adults & kiddles alike! Great 90 minute presentation by the Turtle Hospital staffers...informative as well as emotional in our attachment to these amazing creatures of the ocean...and the need for awareness & education for us all as we share the joy of the open waters!

“Very Informative!”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

We vacationed in Marathon in September 2012, and visited the Turtle Hospital. I recommend it for anyone interested in sea life, and in preserving declining turtle populations in the world. We learned a lot from their exhibits, educational program, and tour of the facility, including meeting some "patients". Sea turtles are most often injured by boat propellers which crush their shells, often leading to infection, leaving gasses trapped in their tissues. This causes them to float on the surface and leaves them unable to dive in search of food. If you ever see a "floating" turtle, please call the Turtle Hospital.
