So glad we made the time and effort to go here. Good educational presentation for adults and kids alike. Once you see the damage humans have done and are still doing.....makes one pause and reflect on what you can do differently to prevent such needless pain to such amazing creatures. The dedication of the original founders and the volunteers restores hope in the human race!

I did not get the chance to go in to the hospital because I didn't make a reservation, which I deeply regret. I have been swiming with sea turles in Tulum, Mexico ( a constantly monitored natural habitat for the Loggerhead and Green Sea turtles), and these amazing, gentle animals are so important to our eco-system need attention! You are welcome to walk in, and review the information at the hospital entrance, which is what we did. We spent about 45 minutes just reading, and made a donation. It will also inform you how to be enviromentally friendly in ways which don't cost a thing. Please stop by, make a reservation to visit, and educate yourself and your children! These small things can help to make a difference. The hospital is also involved with the Dolphin Research Center with dolphin and manatee rescue. Please see everything I missed!

Lots about sea turtles to be learned here, and it might get tedious for some. Still a good stop for us on our trip. The turtles were out of their large pool while it was being cleaned, so we saw them in large blue tanks. Easier to see up close, I suppose, but pretty sterile-looking. No leatherbacks, but there were a couple of other large "patients". Injuries include flippers not working due to back injuries from boat propellors, intestines clogged from eating litterbug trash, gas buildup that prevents proper swimmiing form, etc.

My husband and I are animal lovers so we made reservations to tour the Turtle Hospital on our recent trip to the keys. I'm surprised it's taken us this long to get there on all our trips. What a wonderful place! Our tour leader and all the staff at the hospital were very friendly, very knowledgeable and very appreciative. It's obvious how much they care for these animals. The tour was informational and the stories of the turtles will touch your heart!

We loved the presentation and guided tour of the center. It was fascinating (sometimes heartbreaking) to hear the stories of what had happened to the turtle residents of the hospital, and we got to "meet" almost every single turtle. Keep up the good work, guys!
