Castaway is off one of the Keys "local" restaurants. It's hidden away on the Atlantic side of the island and unless you know about it you'd never know it was there. We were lucky enough to be told about Castaway's by Captain Jeff of "Hook-Em-All" charters. We were in the Keys for ten days and ate at Castaway's twice for dinner. Though it was about a thirty minute drive from where we were staying it was well worth the trip. Our party of eight had sushi, prime rib, fish, and shimp dinners... all were EXCEPTIONAL !!
The atmosphere is an open dining room and was a little loud - only because it was full. Outdoor dining had two areas; the front bar with live music and the back by the water, which was much more quiet. It isn't the white table cloth restaurant - so don't go there expecting that; it's exceptional food served in a traditional Key's environment... AWESOME !!!
