My husband and I are not big seafood eaters, but we had grouper and wahoo, and we both really enjoyed our food - probably because it was fresh. The potato salad was also surprisingly good.

It smells a little fishy upon entering, but, hey, it's called Fish Tales, and they're working with fresh fish.

We tried the Mesquite Grilled Wahoo which was smoked and prepared very well. The side dish of black beans and rice was poor however. Mushy, thrown together, and just not good. The Fish and Chips, beer battered Grouper, was lacking. Almost too much batter and not enough fish. Average is rather kind. Maybe we were spoiled with all the wonderful fish dishes we have eaten on this vacation but we wouldn't come back here. The staff was very nice and helpful but we need to be honest about the food to make the review accurate for others.

Looking for a great lunch, this is the place. The fish is so fresh, it was swimming just a few minutes ago. Service is quick and pleasant. The only criticism of the establishment is that when buying seafood at the counter, the woman who often waits on me is a tad snappy!
For lunch I had a salad (Johnny's Salad), and it was very yummy! Coleslaw is great!

Am very happy to hear you like Fish Tales and our food. I am also sorry that you have had a bad experience at the seafood counter. Sometimes it gets so crazy at Lunch Time that everyone is running around trying to take care of all of the food customers, that it's hard to shift gears and help someone in the market. No excuse...we will try to do better. Hope you continue to come visit us.

This is a staple when we vacation in Marathon; we love this place.  The fish sandwiches are delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the specials are always a creative surprise!   They also do the most incredible sweet smoking of your catch!  Also awesome that they are willing to ship fish and meats for you.  The new Bavarian spin on the menu is a nice addition.

We've vacationed in Marathon several years now and have been on a quest for the best Key Lime Pie. We found it at Fish Tales. We went back three times for more! The lunch was delicious also and we will definitely return next year.
