Description: The original definition of a restaurant used to be: owners cooking for their guests and extending the personal touch to their time at the joint, serving great food, wines, beers and having personal conversations, time allowing. That's why they come back! And that's what we attempt to do every evening that we serve dinner. Our great servers get to know you and handle the conversation when we are frankly too busy to leave the kitchen at times. After 23 years of service, I think we are going to make it!! Thank you to all that have graced our little spot over years, thanks a million!! Lance and Jan Hill, Chefs/Owners (and by the way, we love kids, have a few of our own, and provide a special menu just for them!) Please check Victoria Shearer's new book that just came out: Florida Keys & Key West Chef's Table, to grab a recipe or two :) Our menu is updated and printed daily. As a side note: we are not the least expensive restaurant in town, nor are we the most expensive. We provide an honest example of the expense to this site for your comparison. And the menu is hung just outside the front door. We do not automatically add a gratuity as routine. In this life I've found, you truly get what you pay for. At Barracuda Grill we respect that adage, respect your business and attempt to earn it every night we offer service (Thursday thru Saturday). PS. We are in the twilight of our cooking careers and look forward to serving you very soon!

“Huge servings”
Reviewed April 1, 2014 via mobile

We had two appetizers- edamame and the shrimp. Both were good. All four of us got different entrees- duck, scallops, grouper, and steak. All four were excellent but huge! We had lots of leftovers. This was a pricey meal but we enjoyed it.

“Amazing food with super friendly service!”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

My husband, two kids, and I came to the Barracuda Grill for dinner based on other trip advisor recs. We walked in and were immediately impressed with the friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. All for of us loved our food, each dish was so fresh and delicious. We also had desert that was outstanding. Each of the servers were all so friendly. The owner/chef came to our table and was so kind and funny. We would definitely go again!

“Disappointed Overall”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

This restaurant was recommended by a friend from New Jersey. The staff welcomed us and seated us right away. The interior is clean and comfortable. From there things went downhill. The menu is apparently changed daily and is relatively short. They were out of Grouper and I didn't see many other local fishes on the menu. There were a few appetizers but nothing sounded too interesting. We opted for Shrimp Scampi at 27.99 and Billy Bob's BBQ, (something like that), 25.99. The salads were composed of mixed Spring greens and dressing, OK. The Shrimp Scampi was a pile of 35-40 shrimp over spaghetti. The Scampi sauce tasted way off, like the garlic was burned. This was my wife's entree, but she asked me to taste it and I could see why she didn't each much of it. It was way overpowering, in a bad way. I had the BBQ which was comprised of chunks of BBQ Pork, nice flavor, and a grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce over it, good, but not real BBQ. The onion rings were soggy and the cole slaw was good. I read many of the reviews of Trip Advisor and see that most are positive. Maybe we hit a bad night.

“6 Star in a 5 Star World”
Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Nice solid seating with nicely weighted and polished silverware. Our waitress Ashleigh was very professional and personable, watching over us like we were her only patrons. The Cuda is easily one of the best restaurants in the Florida Keys and definitely in our top 3 pic in Marathon.
Oh....did I mention the food.
These guys even do barbecue like nobodies business. And the roasted Duck was to die for.
This place is just awesome on so many levels. Who cares about silverware.....not that the actual utensils are silver, but they do have a heft to them rarely found in restaurants today....and they do actually polish the knives, forks and spoons that you will use. This speaks to the overall cleanliness of this establishment and higher hygiene standards carry over to an overall feeling of getting more then your money's worth.
I highly recommend The Barracuda Grill to anyone who can appreciate a great restaurant with that something extra.

“Delicious & just right!”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

We found Barracuda Grill while in town visiting Tranquility Bay. We called to be sure they had a kids menu as we have two kids and one is very particular. The best review I can give is this...our dinner tonight was the first time our entire family enjoyed a meal together!! Each one of us raved about our food and we ALL sampled each other's orders. Delicious!! The kids begged us to go back for every meal while in town! The service was great, and the atmosphere was casual-elegance. We can't wait to visit again!

We rarely respond to TA reviews, what's the point. But this one caught us by surprise, in a very emotional way. There is no better sight to me than an entire family have a great time. Thank you very much for your review; you totally made my day!
