“Great location shame about the food and staff!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

Taken to this restaurant by good friends while visiting Marathon. Location is excellent and looked inviting and we seated promptly. However on ordering a round of drinks before ordering food problems arose. Three of us ordered cocktails form the list around the tiki bar. When they were delivered two were in fish head shaped containers and the third in a hard plastic cup with a lid? We asked about these and were told they were souvenir containers and they were at an additional cost. As none of them had any logo or name of the restaurant I do not know what they were a souvenir of and we were never asked if we wanted them or told about the additional cost. When we said we would not pay any extra for them another member of staff appeared and told us "there is not extra charge" ???Who was going to get the extra if we had just paid up? We then odered our food which was very average and would not encourage us to return. We paid our bill, no extra for the souvenir glasses and left.

Shame as we had a fabulous weekend and everywhere elese we went was excellent.

“Incredible Restaurant and Happy Hour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

This restaurant is essentially three restaurants in one. First you have a regular covered bar area that has a sports bar theme is covered similar to a tiki bar, and has an open view of the sunset. Second you have a "fine dining" area that is covered like the bar and open with candlelight, plates, etc. Third, you have an outdoor tiki bar area that also has a play area for kids, a heated swimming pool, propane fueled tiki lights, and while we were there they were projecting sports on an outdoor screen. Pick/choose what you are in the mood for. Bar scene, tiki bar scene, or dinner with candlelight. Atmosphere - Excellent, depending on what you want to do.
We arrived at 5pm to watch the sunset and experienced an incredible happy hour. The service was great, the prices excellent, and menu selection was excellent. We tried a little bit of everything (raw oysters, wings, fish tacos, artichoke/spinach Rangoon, sushi) and all were great. They have a great selection of spirits and beers with half off happy hour on beers, wine, well drinks, etc. We will be back this trip...

“Awesome Sunset, Awesone Food, Awesome Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

It might be enough to say that this is one of the restaurant in the Florida Keys where all of the tables face the setting sun but there is more to this restaurant than that. Located at MM 47 just south of Marathon, the Sunset Grille and Raw Bar offers an exciting array of selections to tempt the palate of even the most selective eater. We sampled a guava rum concoction during Happy Hour that was actually quite tasty. Couple that with the peel-n-eat shrimp that are served with "not your usual" cocktail sauce and you start to immediately enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere. A full sushi menu includes a delectable selection called "Assassin Sushi" which is a departure from the usual California role regular sushi fare. Dinner entrees range from fresh seafood to pasta to brie stuffed Filet Mignon. The Volcano Snapper main entree is a large portion of yellow snapper covered in a creamy mixture of crab, shrimp and lobster with just the right about of spice to excite without overpowering the seafood. It is served with coconut rice that really compliments the meal. The wait staff is attentive without hovering at your table. There is nightly entertainment to round out the evening. Depending on the time of your arrival, this restaurant is suitable for families, couples or singles.

Great location and seaside views of the Atlantic ocean. Young overserved punks w/ beer muscles ruining it for almost everyone- wont be back. Too many other great dining spots w/ view in area. Keys Fisheries, ZaZa, Island Grill, etc
