“Go at night”

Check out the big screen at the pool on the patio. Underwater LED lights in the ocean attract Tarpon and you can watch them from the dock. Food was Fair.

“Enjoy an open-air dining experience”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

This is an entirely open air dining experience, in fact the lower patio has a pool surrounded by tables and lounge chairs. A huge tiki hut, there are large flat screen TVs turned to sports/news channels you can view while eating and listening to music. The service was great and in spite of being a sports bar the food is good also. Located on the water's edge, there is a panoramic ocean view. The only drawback is that it's not located on the west side of the island so diners can observe the beautiful sunsets. Though the lot is fairly large, parking can be a challenge on weekends. Definitely a choice place to eat when you are in or passing through Marathon.

“Back Again, and Again!”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

We ate at the Sunset Grille twice during our trip to Marathon in September 2012 after having eaten here last year. A lot of the local places were closed for a few weeks as the "season" was winding down. This limited our options somewhat, but were satisfied with the Sunset Grille. All of us couldn't help but sing the Eagles song, "Down at the Sunset Grille". The two nights we ate there, there was not much of a sunset, but you really can't see it from here anyway. The seven-mile bridge blocks the view! We loved the Tiki-hut outdoor seating.

Members of our party had various dishes, including raw oysters (very tiny, from Apalachicola), sushi, fried grouper, mixed seafood, among other things. The service was fine, the drinks were really good, but expensive, in take home novelty glassware. We had one member of our party with allergies, and they didn't seem to be able to help much, as the sauces and such are made up beforehand, not during cooking. Overall, it was very good

“Mediocre and Noisy”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

The food here is unimaginative and overpriced. Drinks are served in small plastic cups. Inexplicably, there is a swimming pool in the middle of the outside eating area. Apparently, as long as someone in your party buys a cocktail, the whole family can swim here. The resulting noise was as you can imagine. If you enjoy the ambiance of a children's pool party, this is the place for you. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

“Great Tuna Sandwich”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We visited late 2011 and had their tuna sandwich. It was awesome. We sat underneath a huge Tiki open air porch with a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean. It might be little high priced but worth it.
