Pros: Guest service personnel were very nice and helpful. The guy at the front desk deserves a better gig! :) View from room was nice.

Cons: WAY overpriced for what you get (almost $200 a night). We stayed in the so called 2-bedroom suite / with ocean view. It was not 2 bedroom (a queen size bed with a futon), but one large room. The room looked like an old trailer.

A/C BARELY worked (it made a lot of noise) and was an outdated window unit (which in Florida is a huge negative), room was outdated by at least 30 years and cramped. Looks like they haven't upgraded since 1980. Bathroom toilet constantly ran and was so low to the ground it felt like you weren't sitting on the floor, toilet paper holder broke, and the bathroom door didn't close all the way. Wifi didn't work. The refrid. door had to be slammed shut to close and overall the kitchen was dirty.

The bathroom located by guest services had all the telephone wiring out in the open (someone could have gone in and cut all the wired with no problem) and no toilet paper.

Room Tip: No advice, just go somewhere else.

The rooms were comfortable, the central a/c was great in the keys, pet friendly (minimal to no fee), the white beach & iguanas were cute. I loved my view from the balcony and the peace & quite was exactly what I was looking for. Dont leave food or drinks on the counters or the sugar/pharoh ants will invade. Also, dont ask the desk for recommendations on dinner restaurants; sent us to a horrible bar & grill.

I wanted to write a review to let everyone know what an amazing, wonderful Inn this is. A few friends and myself were taking a trip to Key West and needed somewhere to stay for one night. While we were in Key Largo we went on HotWire to book a hotel around 10:15pm. HotWire set us up with YellowTail Inn in Marathon so we continued to drive figuring it would leave us a shorter commute to Key West in the morning. HotWire failed to inform us that the Inn closed at 10:00pm and allowed us to book the hotel anyway. (I was not aware that HotWire would set you up with a hotel that is not open, not too happy with HotWire at the moment). When we got the Inn around 11:15pm and realized they were not open and HotWire would not assist us or give us our money back, we had to call the emergency number listed on the door of the Inn. Yellowtail immediately sent someone out to assist us and set us up in a room for the night. They had the best customer service we could have asked for. It was greatly appreciated that an employee would come out in the middle of the night to help us, with a smile and at the discounted HotWire rate. Would definitely recommend this Inn!!! THANK YOU!

We were bicycling our way down the keys and I chose this place based on its location. We wanted to bike about 30 miles a day and we had started at Tavernier Key that morning.) This is an adorable, slightly campy but lovely ocean side inn. Enjoyed quietly watching the sunrise over their magnificent pier with other guests in their pajamas. We were there on a Monday night, so was quiet. I recommend this place for a peaceful, quiet getaway or a stop along your way down the Keys.

I booked this room on travelocity secret rooms because hotels in the Keys are so expensive(especially on a Friday evening) that I ended up here. I was hoping that the reviews were wrong, but unfortunately they weren't. To start off, the good stuff: It is located off the beach,a nd I found the beach to be quite nice(it isn't sandy, but it isn't sandy at the Keys). Great view, great quiet location. Also, the staff working at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful in finding a restaurant to eat at. The room was in a separate unit(which I'm always happy about as it means quieter), however it was probably the smallest room on the property, barely room to fit the luggage around the bed. It was clean however, so no complaints there. I would have been ok with this room, however a couple things really bothered me. 1) the curtains they have on are white-holding together with clothes pins, and during the day you can't see through them but at night when you turn on the lights you definately can, and this was concerning getting ready for bed. (Especially cause we didn't realize this until later). 2) there was no hot water in the morning to shower- very disappointing to have a cold shower. 3) We were only left a quarter of a roll of toilet paper, and when we realized this the office was closed and we ran out. 4) the sliding door has a horrible lock that is incredibly hard to close and could easily be broken into. Because of this, we ended up carrying around our valuables. and the bathroom door doesn't have a door handle, just a hole to grab through broken wood. This unit could use some upkeep. If they fixed the lock, put on new(non see through curtains, and ensured the unit was properly stocked I would have been comfortable with this place).

We were looking for a place by the ocean in Marathon, FL. Through Expedia we found Yellowtail Inn.

It is over priced. I realize that accomodations in the Keys are $$$expensive, but this one has the potential of being acceptable but it is run-down and not catered too. We are seasoned travellers and know the value of hotels. This one is not worth the money.

The cabins need TLC, they need a good clean up, paint and re-furbished. The beach, although a beautiful site is not cleaned. The pool is a bit bigger than a jacuzzi.

All in all, I gave it a 2 because it has potential but would not return or recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: For that price...shop around.
