This was a good restaurant. The speed of the service needs to pick up. The soup was good. I loved the ranch dressing which is really important to me. :-) Really! The service also needs to check back in once you have your meal. We needed red pepper but by the time they checked in, we were done. My water glass remained empty for the majority of dinner even though we tried to get the bus boys' attention. I would try this restaurant again.

Fish was superb. Views were amazing from the upstairs outdoor patio---less wind. Opposite side of island for sunset, but good view if the lighthouse. $12 for peel and eat shrimp -- 12 of them but not deveined. For two it will cost a hundred bucks... But good over all

Let me start with the positive--the view from the outdoor dining area overlooking the ocean was beautiful and would be a great place to get a drink. That being said, our experience went downhill from there…
In fairness to our server, we were a party of sixteen, split into a table of 10 (kids between the ages of 9-14) and a table of 6 (adults). Our server took the kids' order separately from the adult order, and their food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, though there were a few missing items. Apparently, he forgot to put our order in, because we still had not received our food over an hour after the kids got theirs. The manager came over and offered us a round of drinks, took that order, and then…nothing (we watched the bartenders literally standing around behind the bar, just hanging out). Our food came out about fifteen minutes after our drinks failed to appear, and was not worth the wait (undercooked steak, gritty scallops, just not very good, all-around).
Our server kept telling us that the kitchen was very backed-up that night, but we watched several tables that were seated after us get their food and leave. And, just to clarify the situation, our kids were well-behaved (no spills, ordered politely, stayed in their seats, etc.).
Overall, just a bad evening...

My review is in 2 parts- the food and the rest...

The food I would give 5 stars, excellent menu choices, our food was delicious, came out of kitchen fairly quickly, portions were generous. LOVE the food.

That being said...the rest of the story.... We were greet by a girl with an attitude at the front door. She took us and seated us outside at a dirty table with cheap, uncomfortable plastic chairs. She came back with a dirty rag and wiped off half of the table, then left. Our waiter came to our table 15 minutes later, his clothes were dirty and he was very sweaty and seemed to have no clue what he was doing. We ordered drinks, he returned 10 minutes later with the drinks and mine was not at all what I had ordered. He took it back, returned 15 minutes later with the correct drink and our salads. While sitting on the deck with some nice water views, the smell of rotting food was ever present seeming to come from the bus station around the corner. Our server only came back to our table one more time, after our meals had been delivered by someone else, were eaten and our drinks empty- we asked for our check. He brought our check in a desert menu saying that they were out of "the black things for the checks" and walked away. Did not come back to pick up our check for quite some time. When he returned with our credit card, he had another check with him and couldn't figure out which was ours. We signed our bill and left. Also, we paid $25-$30 per plate for dinner and $9 per drink- which would have been perfectly fine for the great food if the service and ambiance would have been on par . Keep in mind this restaurant was no where near full and they seemed to have plenty of staff.
