“Best restaurant in the Keys! Yup, the best!”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

My fiancé and I first ate at the islamorada location and we were thrilled they opened one in Marathon. Their crab cakes are the BEST! Huge lump crab cake with sauces that are too die for! The fish is always fresh and some of our favorites are the mahi-mahi prepared lazy day style, jalapeño encrusted yellow tail, and the grouper with wait for it......a crab cake on top! The portions are huge and you really get a lot for your meal.....so much that I don't even blink an eye at the priced enterees (avg $25-$29). The food is great and the location is beautiful over looking the water. When ever we vacation in the Keys, Lazy Days is our go to place (so far 2x on this trip so far).

“Wonderful Food!”
Reviewed May 8, 2012

My daughter is the manager of a fine dining restaurant and her husband is the kitchen manager for a different fine dining establishment. Lazy Days had come recommended by a former co-worker of theirs. We made reservations, although they were not needed on this Tuesday night. I had a fried seafood platter ($27.99); my son-in-law had Grouper Lorenzo (27.99), my daughter the Chicken Piccata ($14.99) and my wife the Crab Asparagus Salad ($15.99). The menu prices seemed a bit high until we saw the quantity and tasted the quality. Our server (Jodie) was knowledgable, the food came quickly and was it ever delicious! We each ate until stuffed and still had enough leftovers for dinner the next night. The Grouper Lorenzo, in particular, was superb. The crab patty was larger than any I'd seen as an entree and the grouper filet it was sitting on was even larger. The soft drinks at $2.99 (with one refill) were outrageously priced but the wine was a generous pour at an OK price. The bread basket provided was varied and of a reasonable quantity. The sweet bread in the basket was really tasty. All in all, Lazy Days South provided a wonderful dinner at a reasonable price. I don't know what the other options are in Marathon but we'd eat here before taking a chance elsewhere. The experience was that good!

“Order the Broiled Seafood Platter”
Reviewed May 2, 2012

This restaurant is a true gem! Be sure to request a table on the patio close to the water when making your reservations. It's a great place to relax and watch the sunset as you enjoy your dinner. If you order the broiled seafood platter, you will not be disappointed. It is a bit pricy at around $30, but it is worth every penny and is enough to share!
