Our stay was very pleasant. However, after checking out, my name was copied on a bogus Days Inn Islamorada receipt and my credit card was charged for a boat rental. The actual hotel does not rent boats. After several calls, faxing of bogus receipts, Days Inn Islamorada doesn't want to make this right over 3 months later.

Although the staff was friendly and humorous in a New England sort of way, ambiance was not one of the Days Inn's strong points. It's basically an island motel that's showing its age and you can tell the furniture and paint has been near the ocean for a decade or two. I did not find it dirty as some did, only musty and in need of airing out. The rooms were functional but not particularly well-appointed. There is a very small scuba shop within the complex and good meals can be had within mere yards of the hotel's entrance. There is a boat and jet ski rental place on the property, but no beach. There is a tiki hut by the harbor, but no tiki bar to go with it. It is a 30-minute drive to Key Largo and a 2-hour drive to Key West. Overall, for active people who aren't looking to be pampered by their surroundings, I believe it is a reasonable choice for the price.

The room was very shabby indeed and very dark and uninviting. A disappointing experience for our 1st night on the Keys. None too clean either. I would very definitely not stay here again and would not recommend to anyone.

Our trip started out with problems and went downhill all week. First they didn't have our room reserved, so we had to stay in one of the suites, which we had to pay extra for. Second, our door lock was broken and it took forever for someone to come and fix it. Third, while they were fixing it we left to enjoy the Keys, and when we came back we discovered that my iPod had been stolen. Fourth, I tried to get some extra towels by calling the front desk and no one picked up. I called three times and finally had to walk all the way to the office and then they didn't have any, so they had to send someone with them, which took another half an hour.
I was so dissatisfied with this hotel and upset at having my property stolen that I would never, ever stay there again. The lack of compentent, honest staff is the real downfall to this awful establishment. The market for inexpensive, clean hotels in Islamorada is wide open, the Days Inn could make a killing if they only took the time to fire everyone who works there now and hire some compentent, caring staff.

Went for drive and decided to stay. This hotel has great potential but it is in dire need of housekeeping and maintanace. Room has great view but it needs a lot of cleaning, Had to wash sheets before sleep. Also the sliding glass doors in order to be opened two people had to drag them. Furniture is realy dirty and out of date. The only thing good thing about the place is the staff.
