Beautiful resort, clean rooms, excellent customer service, so many ammenities! Pools are beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. There is a par 3, 9 hole course. Not tour pristine but all you need for a vacay to hit some balls around. Bicycles, x box, board games, kayak, floating big wheel, paddle board, paddle boats all available to the guests. This was truly a beautiful place to stay in Islamorada. There were just a few negatives, but this is why we have reviews right? If you are staying in a beach bungalow which is absolutely perfect, you can't have your car nearby..there is no parking at the beach bungalows you have to park in the main lot which is quite a walk. Also we brought our boat and felt it took us a few days until we knew how to come in to the dock, it's extremely shallow and difficult to come in or out during low tide. Also finding a place to put your boat in the water is almost impossible. It's crazy I know, we spent 1/2 the day trying to find a ramp, most of them are private or not available to the public. We ended up putting in at Post Card Inn and storing our trailer there $30 to use ramp in and out and $40 per day trailer storage. They close ramp at 6 so the day we left we had to be out before then. Also at Cheeca during low tide The entire beach goes out and dries up so there is only beach area for guests 1/2 the day. There is nothing you can do about Mother Nature though. Also washing down motor and boat can be difficult at Cheeca if there are no spots near the hose. Hoses are only located closer to the shore on the dock. Positive, About a 10 minute drive to alligator reef which is beautiful. Overall we would absolutely stay again just had to use this first trip to gain knowledge for the ins and outs for what is available for boaters here. Small inconveniences absolutely do not rule out how much we loved Cheeca. Smoothies by the pool were delicious, try the key lime smoothie with graham cracker crumbles in it! Continental breakfast is also hearty and fresh, fruits, bacon, grits etc...all you need for a quick balanced breakfast. Bottled waters in rooms are complimentary and re stocked daily. Thank you Cheeca for a wonderful stay!!!! This is a little slice of paradise in Islamorada.
One suggestion for Cheeca;
Upon arrival for guests ask them if they will be docking their boat with you and give them a list of recommended ramps to put boat in the water also direct them to boat trailer storage that I know you have on site (we decided not to use the storage at Cheeca because we needed the trailer readily available at the ramp we used). There is no proper charting for the way in and out of the dock esp during low tide, giving guests a brief recommendation for the path in and out that would be key.
