We recently returned from a week at Cheeca Lodge. It was an easy ride from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport. When we turned off Rt. 1 and passed through the gates it
felt like a Caribbean island. We loved the meandering paths through the tropical landscaping and lagoon. My kids played I Spy Salamanders every time we walked from our room to the pool.
We had a beautiful one bedroom suite. It was well decorated and modern. We have two little kids and it was great to have a kitchen. We made good use of it and prepared breakfast each morning and ate on the lanai. It was Fourth of July vacation week and the resort had great energy, but it never felt crowded. It was fabulous to have access to tennis courts, golf and bikes at our leisure. We spent most early mornings playing golf or tennis and then spent the rest of the day by the fabulous ocean front family pool. When my kids (and with that I mean me) got restless we either grabbed fishing rods or put on our snorkel masks and enjoyed ourselves. I had a hard time getting my 8 year old out of the lagoon!
We felt that the service was top notch whether at the sports desk, pool side, bar, water sports hut, house keeping or spa. I forgot to mention that it was also my wife's birthday. She spent a day at the adult pool and got a message. She claims its the best one ever.
Since returning and posting our family shots on Facebook I've learned that a few of my friends have gone to the resort and loved it too.
