Went to Kaiyo based on the guide book discription of the menu. We were wonderfully impressed with the variety. A full sushi ,shashimi and japanese appetiser selection plus a very good seafood and steak selections. Kirin beer on tap and a nice wine and saki list.
We had the day's special sushi roll as an appetiser, truely an original creation and delicious. I had the fish special, yellow fin snapper stuffed with crab in a lemon butter sauce with rice and vegtables. What I got was the crab stuffed fish plus two large scallops and two large shrimp, all in a wonderfully seasoned butter, lemon and garlic sauce, served with rice, jullianed carrots and baby asparagus. Simply scrumptious. My wife had a filet minon with a creamy bacon and cheese sauce. It was one of the largest filets I have ever seen served in a restraunt. And done perfect for medium, fire seared on the outside and pink on the inside with no blood, served with borsin mashed potatoes which were perfect. Mile marker 82.7 on your way down hwy 1, Great value and quality for your money.
