La Siesta Resort & Marina
Ranked #12 of 19 Hotels in Islamorada

They've done a really nice job renovating these rooms. I stayed in an oceanfront 1Br that had a large living area with kictchentette including 2 burners and a mini fridge. The balcony was also large and a great place to watch the sunrise. Resort also offers daily continental breakfast poolside and has an affiliated marina across the road. There is a boat launch onsite if you bring your boat or jet skis. It was too cold for the beach and many people think the Keys have great beaches, but they don't. All are man made and most are small. This one is actually a good size and they have all sorts of water craft you can rent right there. Marathon is about 1 to 1-1/2 hours from Key West and is a great mid-point if you want to explore Islamorada all the way to Key West. In case you're traveling with a group, they also have an awesome 5BR house on the property that you can rent.

I stayed at La Siesta Resprt & Marina for a wedding which took place in a nearby hotel, where not enough rooms where available for the whole party. I came across the place through TripAdvisor, where the feedback was mixed, but since we only stayed for two nights, we took the chance.

Two rooms were booked in the block to the right from the main entrance. These were just average, good enough to sleep and shower, but not much else. However the living room and kitchen were large, as was the balcony, but this was no reason to stay in the room for longer thatn necessaey (sleep & shower).

Much nicer was the pool area, where we met up with the two families that stayed in the small huts closer to the marina. These huts were really nice, with a small terrace, and close to the pool. The whole group met in front of these huts on the small sandy strip (one might call it a beach) and the kids had fun in the pool.

Service was almost non-existent, a tiny continental breakfast was served at the pool-side, luckily we had a good dinner both nights and were not really hungry. To call the brown soup a coffee would have been too much, but at reception they sold cappuccino - unfortunately the machine was broken.

Nevermind, it's a place to stay for a few nights, if you want to spend the day somewhere else or at the pool. Nothing exciting, but not too bad.

My family and a big group friends went to La Siesta end of July to celebrate our friends Albert and Pilar son's David 2nd birthday and what a surprise .As you can imagine there were plenty of children in our group and this place is totally kids friendly specially the pool and the grounds. The entire staff made us feel so wolcome we are coming back Labor Day to celebrate another birthday and we are having a Hawaiian Luau under theTiki Hut next to the Ocean it can't get better than that. Love this place.

Great welcoming front desk. Had an Ocenfront room with a view of the pool. Shared balcony was "ok", only because there was no one next to us. Great place to bring your boat. Small beach, clean pool area and grounds. Continental breakfast at the pool with a great view.
I stress if you are traveling with teenagers and you do NOT have a boat,....they willl be bored. They do have on site water craft rentals, however we did no do that.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating.
We'd go back.

La Siesta is the perfect place to stay in Islamorada. We had a large suite with a kitchenette and a large balcony with an amazing view of the ocean and pool. Just sitting on the balcony was paradise. We enjoyed the pool & jacuzzi. They have a small marina right there where we kept our boat. It was great to just jump in the boat and go. Our kitchen was stocked well with pans, dishes, silverware and spatulas, etc. The suite had been recently remodeled and was very very nice. I would stay at La Siesta again in a heartbeat.

My son and his fiancee chose La Siesta for their wedding which was held on February 27, 2010. I drove down from S. Florida in July of 2009 to check out the property and the various accommodations since most of the guests attending the wedding were planning on staying there. I was quite taken by the location and overall atmosphere. It is truly a place to lay back and catch your breath. The 5-bedroom house is well worth the expense. It is beautifully decorated inside with a wonderful view of the water. The wedding took place on the small beach and the reception was held outside the house under a tent. I stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 story condo. While it has not been updated yet, it was clean and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. Although it was a very cold, windy and rainy evening - the wedding and reception were wonderful and I think everyone had a great time. The staff were both helpful and polite and the few other quests that were staying there didn't seem to mind the noise from the reception. I would definately go back to La Siesta Resort and Marina.
