Informative, go read the plaques yourself, I'm not giving it away. Hint* It's about the water. Seriously, grab a coffee and head out after a shower of rain get good parking and enjoy the views.

“Refreshing shaved ice”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Visited Robbie's. We were disappointed that we could not find a boat to take us to the Indian Keys State Park. It was very expensive to charter a boat for 3 of us and my 85 year old mother could not kayak or jet ski over. We enjoyed the shops and feeding the tarpon. The shaved ice at Charli's stand was very refreshing and delicious. I had the coconut and dreamsicle favors.

“Ok but”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

There is really not much there to see. The history of the place is fascinating but not much else for the money.

Friendly, helpful staff, good, safe equiptment and the view was amazing! If you are able to kayak...a trip over to Indian Key is heartily advised.

“Abandoned Island, well sort of. Lots of fun!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

My sister, nieces and I rented a couple of canoes from Robbie's it's a place nearby where you can rent boats, canoes, kayaks and get something to eat as well. They will be able to point out the way to best get to this little treasure of an Island. Any way we rented the canoes (and trust me none of us had much experience with this, plus we had a 8 year old with us) and it took us a little more than a half hour to get to the island. This island use to be inhabited in the middle of the 19th century, but is now an uninhabited ghost town.
It has little roads and street names etc. Once we got there we "parked" our canoes with some others and started exploring the island. The day was great for snorkeling and we went around almost the whole island snorkeling, we saw many fishes and some really big ones (which sorry I don't know what they were, but they didn't bother us) we also saw a couple of cute dolphins swimming by.

We had such a lovely time. I hear that sometimes they have ranger here but on this occasion it was just us and a couple of other tourist.

There is no bathrooms and or water available, we brought plenty of water, snacks and sunscreen. We spent a lovely time there, it is so unique I hope you come out to see it soon.
