“Shallow Clear Waters”
Review of Anne's Beach

Anne's Beach
Reviewed January 21, 2014

We stopped by here on our return from Key West. There is parking on either side of the beach...not a lot, but we lucked out when we drove by. It is FREE, which is a BIG plus. The beach can be very, very narrow, depending upon the time you are there. However, what a lot of people with young children will like is how shallow the water is. It is SO shallow and clear, which is great for the little ones. The thing that is odd is that it's not the normal kind of "sandy" beach you would run in to. Not all that great for building castles. There is a boardwalk through trees and you can go across there to get to the other side of the beach, depending upon the tide. I think it's definitely worth a stop, if you are driving by.

Perhaps we've been spoiled by having visited some of the best beaches in the world, but this place was somewhat of a disappointment. Not very much beach at all, very little parking, many people. Came back in the evening and the water was into the parking lot, so watch out for higher tides (and global climate change). The island here is very narrow, barely much beyond the road on either side. Nice views, but perhaps there are better places to dip ones toes into the water.\

It is kept by the village in great conditions. While there, we could see inspectors and workers taking care of the place. You can walk into the sea warm waters even in October. Awesome!
Only drawback, parking is limited.

What a beautiful little spot Anne's beach is! Stopped there nearly everyday on our vacation. Put your chair in the water, kick back and relax! Watched lots of windsurfers, abundant wildlife, both in the water and along the boardwalk! If you're going to venture into the water it's probably a good idea to have water shoes, depending on where you enter at. Overall a peaceful, tranquil, beautiful little gem!

Beaches are not plentiful in the Keys, so we were thrilled to find this beach. It's not your traditional beach with lots of sand, but the walk across the boardwalk was beautiful and, if you go early, you can score one of the cabanas along the way where you can stay for the day. We caught little crabs, made sand castles and played in the water a bit. In January, the water was a bit cold for any prolonged swimming, but it was beautiful nonetheless.
