“The one cheesy road stop YOU MUST see in your life!”
Reviewed April 9, 2010

It's a nice cheap road stop that really gets you in the Keys State of Mind! In response to people saying it's expensive...you pay $5 for a small bucket of bait (maybe 5-7 fish)...if you go to SeaWorld they charge you $5 for 2 capelin so I find it VERY REASONABLE! It is an adventure feeding these GIANT silver fish. A great photo op. In response to people complaining about pelicans-->Welcome to FL you should be more scared of the birds rather than sharks they are very aggressive. As long as your cautious of them they shouldn't be a problem. And in response to the "bird beater" I volunteer for a seabird sanctuary in Tampa Bay area and I didn't not find the dockhands to be abusive at all, a net is the safest way to control a pelican.

The flea market is very cute with lots of good Keys finds. One artist makes frames out of old crab traps and they are so beautiful! The Hungry Tarpon restaurant didn't look like anything special to me, so I didn't go there. But I would grab a Corona and take at least an hour to stroll around Robbie's freely it is a great experience!

We went on the basic fishing charter and had a great time. The crew was professional and everyone caught fish.

“A RIP-OFF”
Reviewed March 26, 2010

This place is such a dump and a rip-off!!!!! Did not feel safe on the docks, the birds kept taking the fish out of the kids hands and we did not feel safe on the dock (old and run-down). Don't waist your time and money!

“If you like birds, don't feed the tarpon!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed March 20, 2010

We stopped to eat at the Hungry Tarpon, located at Robbie's and the guys in my group decided we should feed the tarpon. I thought nothing of feeding a bucket or two of fish to these already well fed tarpon.

Well, the pelicans in the area have obviously seen the fish being fed continually and have wanted to get in on the action. Instead of putting a large net over the area to keep the pelicans at bay, the marina has hired a resident bird beater who handles a fish net like a machete as he tries to beat the pelicans away. This guy even scooped one of the young pelicans up in the net (wings splayed and feathers flying) and into the face of the resident marina dog. I think this place should be ashamed at the treatment they give to these birds and especially after I saw the injured birds at the local bird sanctuary.

If you don't have a heart for birds, have fun. I won't go again.

“Great location, great people, no complaints at all...”
Reviewed March 15, 2010

I rented a boat from Robbie's for 3 days and have nothing but good things to say about everyone we met, their recommendations on where to fish, and the overall experience. The price was right (3 days of rental gets the half-day rate for every day) and the boat ran well. Although the boat was not new, it was reliable and performed very well in all conditions. The team at Robbie's really took care of us, I will definitely go back and heartily recommend this company to anyone! Also, the onsite restaurant and bar also had great service and prices - and you simply have to go feed the tarpon. Very cool.
