This place reminded me of the bar in the old sit-com "Cheers": it's a friendly place, everyone is glad to see you. For Saturday night I made reservations for four at the quietest table in the courtyard and was promised the "furthest from the band". When we arrived there the band was in full swing and so was a wedding in the courtyard; for a quieter dinner we were seated promptly
inside where we could see everything and still converse.
Our waiter was friendly and helpful; all the service was very good. Two of us ordered oysters which were good, medium-sized and served with a cocktail sauce and horseradish sauce.
Three ordered Florida lobster; mine was overcooked and chewy, the other two pronounced theirs
good. For dessert we all had Key Lime Baked Alaska, a limey merengue surrounding ice cream,
a good turn on Key Lime pie.
The courtyard here is a beautiful place to eat, the food is good, not great, the prices are moderate for the Keys, and everyone smiles.
