“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We loved this hotel,it somehow manages to be different to other hotels in a great way.
It is so beautiful and peaceful with amazing staff who do anything to help.It is right on the water
with great views.
My only criticism is the bathroom in one of the less expensive rooms is at the most 2 star.

I hesitate to write this review, as I want to keep this marvelous place to ourselves! This is our new, favorite extended weekend getaway. Casa Morada is luxurious for what it is NOT, as its simplicity might not appeal to everyone. It is serene, secluded, quiet (no small children allowed). The pool area is wonderful w/ comfortable seating & lounging areas. The small size of the hotel makes it very personal; the staff is friendly and very helpful. Great to have kayaks & bicycles @ our disposal too; we biked several times to the end of the street to Lor-e-lei's for a beer & a sandwich (great casual spot, BTW), as well as a bike ride across the way on the Old Highway. There are several interesting kayak destinations close by, as well as snorkeling; unfortunately, while we were there, Hurricane Sandy was just getting underway & it was too windy for either. The rooms are airy, minimal, simply decorated in a way that is sophisticated. Live orchids in each room is a really nice touch. Every room contains an assortment of books to read if you forgot yours at home. Everywhere you will find little touches like these, which indicate the level of care taken to make your stay enjoyable. We will be back often, I hope!

Room Tip: there are several; while staying, walk around the property & pick your favorite for next time!

Casual, relaxing, sophisticated. This is a quiet, romantic resort with lush landscaped grounds on the bayside of Islamorada. It's walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Free kayaks, paddleboard, bikes. Great pool. And the bar is perfect for sunset! Service is outstanding as well.

Room Tip: We had one of the hot tub suites - and it was awesome!

Another blissful stay at Casa Morada. This place is truly fantastic. Tucked away, quite and peaceful on the Gulf. It is a great place to get away and totally relax. Totally low key and chill this is not a loud party place. The resort is right on the Gulf allowing for spectacular sunsets from the island and some rooms. The grounds and landscaping are absolutely beautiful and the design contributes to the very private feel each room gets. We have stayed in four different rooms at Casa Morada now and loved them all. Each is a little different, deep soak Jacuzzi tubs, outdoor shower, large outdoor deck etc. The free breakfast is great in the morning and the lunch options at the restaurant are all good. They even have a sailboat for sunset cruises. The staff is fantastic, all very pleasant, super accommodating and very professional. This is what hospitality is all about!

Quiet clean boutique hotel right in the middle of islamorada. Children not permitted must explain why it's so nice and quiet, some rooms have an outdoor shower, friendly staff, nice island with bar and pool, small boat friendly with boat ramp and harbour. Great location on the water on the bayside. Beautiful a sunsets, complimentary kayaks, bikes, snorkeling, gear, and more. Pet friendly ($35 pet fee) they give you a fog bed and bowls. Very nice complimentary continental breakfast.
Great place to getaway for a couple days, I don't want to leave I wish I could stay forever.

I am so glad that we booked Casa Morada - it was not an easy task, booking something a little more luxurious on a family holiday, via the internet, but we chose well! It is a place of tranquility. Everything flows naturally and peacefully there.
We stayed in the upstairs garden room, with balcony, jacuzzi and space, so much space. Everything in the room was in order - we in fact had trouble with the airconditioning, which was attended to immediately, so was no trouble for long. The products in the bathroom were excellent - this was one of the very few times I bothered taking some home!
The pool, bar and bay area were wonderful, too. We had older teens with us (I really appreciated not having toddlers around in such a peaceful place) and they were happy to vegetate in the outdoor lounging room, or in the pool room. There is plenty of lounger space; and the bar with ultra-friendly and sweet Jessica is just there, with delicious food and a multitude of healthy drinks at hand.
There is no beach - the end of the pool area drops into the Gulf of Mexico, in which you are free to swim, snorkel and kayak (all offered, free of charge) - but we really didn't miss it, and happily swam in both the pool and Gulf, snorkelled and kayaked!
The staff... where do these ethereal ladies come from?! Sweet, discreet, friendly, softly-spoken, funny. And owner, Terry, was seen very often, always ready to chat, enquire, help.
Book it, go there, be yourself, it is a little paradise! (Please take me with you?!)

Room Tip: We considered that garden vs sea would not be as nice, but they certainly were. Casa Morada is a sm...

I very much enjoyed everything about my four night stay at Casa Morada. The hotel is has a great location near plenty of restaurants and shopping. The staff is super friendly and have plenty of patience and time to respond to your needs.

I especially liked that the pool and bar sit in a small lagoon where fish and manatees swim right underneath you. I spent every evening out on the paddle boards exploring the nearby mangroves. Then jumping on a bike to hit a near by restaurant.

As much as I loved the manatee room ( ocean front ground level) I would opt for a second floor ocean view room. My last night was spent in the Mango Limbo room, on the second floor of the front building. Both rooms were wonderfully furnished and clean and comfortable.

My suggestion is to stop at the Winn Dixie just north of Islamorada and load up on snacks. There is also a CVS very close by. Also if you are serious about paddle boarding the mangroves rent a board from a shop called the Other Side. They will deliver the board to the hotel.

Room Tip: There is no way to choose a bad room at this hotel.
