We stayed there in August and it's an OK place to stay but nothing special. The beach is only accessible with a staircase (plus they currently have problem with too much seaweed so we refrained from getting into the water). The pool is old and wasn't very clean.
The breakfast was a negative experience since the breakfast room is far too small (it's part of the lobby) and people are squeezing and have nowhere to sit during 'rush hour'. Butter was not available anymore one morning - even after asking the staff. But then breakfasts in the US hotels are often basic...
The facilities in the room were good, just the AC (an old window AC) was far too loud!! The bed mattress was far too soft causing bad back pain - but then again we experienced this in most US hotels.
All in all the whole place needs refurbishment! And it's more of a family place rather than for couples.
It has definitely NOT deserved 5 points in my eyes, and I don't understand some of the ratings here...
Only really positive aspect was the TIKI bar - the food was outstanding!!! You don't expect this when you go there but they must have one of the best chefs of the Keys!More
