We just returned from a 5 day trip to Islamorada Florida, in the Florida Keys. We had an amazing time and will return next year. One of the highlights was a fishing trip with Bamboo Charters. We went out with Captain Tony, and caught tons of fish. Tony knew exactly where to go to catch fish. Each of the boats can accommodate 4 people, so it was perfect for our family. We went with our two adult children, and it was one of the best outings we have ever had. Tony filleted out fish and recommended we take them to Lazy Days Restaurant, where they cooked them "Lazy Days style" with tomatoes, scallions and parmesan. Best fish dinner we have had. Highly recommend that restaurant too. Bamboo Charters is at MM 80.5 and you can reach Captain Tony at
305-394-3647. We caught sea trout, snapper, and ladyfish. Fished in the Everglades for four hours. You can also reserve a full day, but 4 hours was perfect for us. Bamboo Charters is located at the Siesta Marina at MM 80.5. Take your family or friends out for a fun day!

Not ever fishing in the Keys I wanted to take my two boys on a backcountry fishing trip. Found his add in a magazine , read his reviews and it looked good. Wow, Matt was fabulous got us on tons of fish,my boys and I were having the time of our life nonstop action, we even made on his radio show this man makes your day something you won't forget. If your in the Keys and want true backcountry fishing experience give Capt. Matt Bellinger a call you won't be disappointed!! The Dopp radar boys

Our family ( 2 adults and 2 daughter, 16 and 21 years old ) took a three hour backcountry fishing trip with Capt. Matt in mid March 2011. It was probably the highlight of our week in the Keys. We caught our limit of mangrove snapper and really enjoyed our time (only wish it had been longer). Capt. Matt Ballanger was great, he has been fishing in the Keys for over 20 years and is very knowledgable about the area. He also has a great sense of humor and lots of good stories. The boat, fishing equipment and La Siesta Marina were all great. Next time we will plan a whole day.

Down in the keys with my three boys and brother-in-law. Capt. Tony took care of all our needs, we caught tons of fish, and had a great time! My son, who wasn't into fishing, said it was one of the funnest things he has ever done.

Thanks Capt. Tony!

My husband and I were down in the Florida Keys the week of February 21, 2011. We have been out with Captain Matt with Bamboo Charters many times before, so we were confident that we were going to have two more awesome fishing trips with him that week. When we contacted him to reserve him for February 22 and 24th, he told us he was available and we were extremely excited. We told him that we were bringing our friends with us and they never really went fishing like this, so he promised to show them an awesome time, and that is exactly what he did! The first day we went out, our friends wanted nothing more then to catch some big fish and maybe a shark. Let me tell you, Matt delivered! We were catching Barracudas anywhere from 6-16 pounds out in the Atlantic. Once that died down, he took us to the Gulf because the Spanish Mackerel bite was on. Once we caught our share of them, we started to chum for Shark. Once again, Matt came through and our friends landed an 8 foot, 350 pound Nurse shark. Our friends were delighted and so were we! They not only caught the fish they wanted to catch, they got to see so much wildlife in the process and Captain Matt gave us a wonderful lesson on sea turtles and how they love to eat Portuguese-Man-O-War.
On Thursday, my husband and I went out with Matt and one of his other captains, Tony. Although the fishing was a little on the slower side that day (about 75 fish caught), Matt kept us on the fish. If they weren't biting in one spot, he would take us somewhere else where they were biting. Captain Matt is nothing but a professional guide and once you go out with him one time, you will be hooked. We are already planning a trip in June for some tarpon fishing! I highly recommend Matt for fishing, snorkeling, nature tours, or whatever else you would like to do. Captain Matt will do whatever YOU want to do. From the first time we went out fishing with Matt, we had made a great new friend!
