Wonderful resort away from crowds.Centrally located in the Keys. Very affordable. Would definitely consider returning after repairs are completed from the recent hurricane damage. We were there in 2014.

The resort recently reopened after damage from Hurricane Irma. Each unit is private with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a full kitchen and can sleep up to 6. When we arrived the structural repairs appear to be complete with new storm impact windows and doors. Inside there is new flooring, furniture, beds and appliances with a washer, dryer and storage below. The showers are functional, but the only thing that seems to need remodeling; management said it's on the list. After settling in we took a refreshing dip at the beach and then jumped in the pool and Jacuzzi. We ate dinner out most of the time, but many people enjoy the BBQ grills. Don't miss breakfast at Robbie's feeding the tarpon. We also enjoyed Lorelei happy hour from 4-6 and live music every night. Habanos Spanish restaurant was close by and had great food for the money. This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we had in a long time.

Room tip: Choose a unit in the middle and you will be between the beach pool and tennis court.

Hurricane Irma destroyed the resort and now they are on the verge of reopening. In the past, it was really nice to be in Islamorada and at the resort. Sure, the place was way out of date, the units were in desperate need of a LOT of refurbishing, but you know... You're in the Keys and so what. Relax.

Having been to this resort 3 times (we're owners now) I can think of no place I'd rather stay. Quiet, secluded and comfortable. We hope the cats are okay. We look forward to return in 2019.

Room tip: Bring extra towels, bring an umbrella for the beach or pool.

My brother and I rented a two bedroom condo here for a week and were very disappointed. Topsider has a beautiful setting on the gulf with a small sandy beach and a very nice dock for fishing or tying up a boat. The resort has a pool and hot tub. The landscaping is nicely done. So why are you such a terrible rating? The problem is that the condo units themselves probably haven't been updated in 40 years. The beds were creaky and the carpeting looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a dozen years. Everything just had an old and dirty feeling. If ownership would invest a little money, this wouldn't be a bad place. Definitely will not stay here again.

Good location, nice grounds. Great dock for keeping your boat. Small but decent beach area, decent pool.
Units......outdated, desperate need of some renovations. A/C can be fickle, don't turn too low or might freeze up.
If you are really picky, look elsewhere. If you can deal with the above, then the Topsider is not a bad place.
Quiet, relaxing, close but not too close to many restaurants and other activities.

Room tip: Try to get in first 3 units from the beach.
