Review of The Kayak Shack

We planned this outing based on the reviews read here and it definately was not a disappointment. The second day of our trip intended to do the self-guided trip to Indian key and then the mangroves. A little windy so the Kyak Shack didn't want to send us to Indian key so we just did the mangrove tunnels and had an absolute BLAST! Went back the last day of our trip and went to Indian key, very enjoyable and relaxing day on the island. We went early at high tide and the snorkeling around the island was great, hundreds of fish hanging out under the rock ledges, lots of sponges and lobster. The staff was wonderful.

Just got back from a week in Islamorada. Our last day we went on the 2 hour kayak trip at the kayak shack. Our guide, Robbie was excellent. He made sure everybody had a chance to view wildlife. He's knowledgeable and considerate and never once rushed us. It was a great combination of paddling and relaxing.... the tunnels through the mangrove trees are really incredible. Robbie worked really hard to make sure everyone had a memorable experience.

We have rented our kayaks from john at the kayak shack for 5 years and have never been disappointed. Being from michigan makes the trips through the mangroves so delightful. The cost is fair and everyone is very helpful .i cant wait ro fo back

We rented a double kayak for the day at a rate of $55 or so. They got us right out with a map of the area and informed us of all the local sights. Paddled out to Indian key and had picnic lunch there that we brought with us in the kayak. The staff also told us the best places to snorkel at Indian key. Returned back inland and then did the mangrove trail. Upon returning to the marina, the staff helped us get out if the boat and they have a fresh water shower to rinse off. Perfect day.
