Description: Our restaurant atmosphere is warm and friendly. Our food is prepared delightfully light, healthy and flavorful. Our seafood is grilled with lovely toppings - and if you desire fried, we fry in rice oil for good health. We do have delicious, made in house desserts including our Awarding winning traditional Key Lime Pie, German Chocolate Cake and locals favorite Hummingbird Cake. MA's also has a desirable Wine and Beer menu.

Best fish tacos! Mine were grilled, husband's were fried, Baja style. Both quite good with large portions. We had the deep dish Key lime pie....need to share, a very large and delicious portion!

We had just finished volunteering for the Bridge Clean Up sponsored by the Dolphin Research Center and we were hot, tired and hungry. We had never eaten at Ma's so we decided to give it a try. Patty made us feel at ease immediately and helped us decide what to order. We finally decided on the smoked skirt steak and the fried shrimp, with black beans and rice and macaroni. I swear that the macaroni was the best I have ever eaten, it was like aromatherapy when it came to the table, mouthwatering! Patty suggested the Boston Cream Cake for dessert, it was a large portion and we shared it. It was SO good. We ordered more macaroni to go! We will most definitely be returning!

Went for dinner, looking for local seafood. Prices were on the high end of mid-economical ($15 mahi tacos, $16 for 7 grilled jumbo shrimp). Maybe we're just not on board with keys pricing, but we've had as good or better food for less on our trip.

Service was a mixed bag. Hostess very friendly, server seemed irritated to answer questions about the menu (and the place was empty - us and two other tables, so not like she was running crazy).

Ambiance was quieter, sit-down dining, which was nice after lots of festive, decor-loaded places in the area.

Anyway: your experience may vary - there was nothing wrong with the food, and nothing horrifically wrong with the service, just not a great overall experience. Good, fair, average, but not great.

In my opinion, quality (taste and freshness) and portion size are unparalleled in the upper Keys. This is my 5th trip to the area in as many years and my first to this restaurant. This is my new standard for excellence in fish dinners. The sides were also well prepared and some thought was given to them as well. We ate here two times during our week stay. We ordered our fish "grilled" both times but looking at the other tables, the other options sure looked good as well (blackened, fried) I think we gained several pounds sharing a dessert both nights. Both desserts were made in house and very well prepared. The coffee was also good. As for the price.... I couldn't have purchased the raw ingredients at home for less than we paid for each dinner!

Looking for reasonably priced fish meals is a challenge... every one in the Keys is proud of their fish. Meals will cost at least $20... Up to $30 easy. Food was tasty but not super enough to just $$$. Enjoyed our meal, service was fine but probably wouldn't go back.
