Description: Our restaurant atmosphere is warm and friendly. Our food is prepared delightfully light, healthy and flavorful. Our seafood is grilled with lovely toppings - and if you desire fried, we fry in rice oil for good health. We do have delicious, made in house desserts including our Awarding winning traditional Key Lime Pie, German Chocolate Cake and locals favorite Hummingbird Cake. MA's also has a desirable Wine and Beer menu.

“Stay away”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

Been in the keys for a few days and been very fortunate to have experienced great restaurants at good prices ..went on trip a advisor and saw good reviews on this place but was severely disappointed. The fresh catch grouper came out and was so puny my wife and I thought may have been the appetizer portion..it couldn't have been more than 1/8 of an inch thick and was no more than 2--3 medallions..I mentioned that to the waitress and figured that the owner who was standing 5 feet away would come over and say something instead she stayed away and never came over n fact when we walked out she turned her back, completely unprofessional... The bill came and the price was $26.00 incredibly overpriced. So stay away the shrimp Box gives you double the food at half the price by the way my wife had the skirt steak that was the width of a steak um

We liked ma's fish camp so much from last year that we went back this year. We were seated promptly and our server Chris was right there with our water and menus. Service was teriffic ,blackened hogfish with sides and Baja fish tacos minus the tortillas as ordered was perfect! Wine was an excellent amount for each serving.Overall great food ,service, and price.will go back before we head home

“Best seafood in the saltwater fishing capital of the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

We ate there based on a recommendation by a local. We had eaten at a couple other places highly rated and liked them, then went to Ma's and the food was excellent, service warm and inviting. The restaurant is not striking from the outside but don't let that keep you away. The food is excellent and the servers are eager. Side dishes are very good, reminiscent of Caribbean/Dominican Republic/Cuban. Well flavored and not obnoxiously hot, fits with the fish dishes perfectly.
We ended up eating there three times that week, including a memorable meal of Mahi-Mahi my mother-in-law had caught that afternoon. Like many Islamorada restaurants, they will cook your fish you caught that day on a charter and serve it with sides for a nominal fee.
We will return happily next trip. Truly an insider's sort of place.

“Where the locals go for exceptional seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2014

An unassuming little restaurant with some of the best seafood in the Keys. Prices are reasonable ($26 for a hogfish special vs $38 for a sub-par similar dish across the street). The fish is fresh and well-prepared; the sides and desserts generous and tasty. The service is prompt and friendly.

It is tasteful but not on the water; there is limited outside seating under the palms in the heart of Islamorada art district. If you can combine dinner at Ma's with the monthly Islamorada Art Walks, (third Thursday each month) even better.

Ma's serves from a selection of beer/wine. Reservations are highly recommended.

Go across the street for your water views and mixed drinks. Then come to Ma's for an excellent Keys dinner.
