“Beautiful Views”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

My husband and I recently stayed at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and we really enjoyed our stay! Our room was nothing fancy but cute and clean. The landscaping is beautiful with lots of water features, flowers and trees! We enjoyed the gorgeous views of the water and the boats. It was so relaxing and laid back. The staff is very friendly and courteous! We would defiantly stay here again!

I stayed at the Chesapeake Resort becasue we were deep sea fishing and this was a great location. We know in the Keys there is no beach, the other activity to pass the time is swimming. I have 2 boys and swimming was a must for this trip. Both swimming pools at this hotel were old and not clean. Both pools had food on the bottom of the floor and have not been updated in decades.

Room price should not go over $100 and I paid $250/night

We stayed here becasue Trip Advisor gave it a 4 star rating but I guess they didn't swim in the pools.

The location is pretty but the place is an old motel. The front desk staff is unfriendly.Breakfast was very basic and the breakfast room was so small and modest.
The pools have cracked tiles and dirty grout. The room was dark. Bathroom was very dirty. The price was high for what you get.

This resort has a mix of hotel rooms and quaint cottages. We stayed in one of the cottages, which was very private. It is a dog-friendly resort, has two swimming pools and plenty of water sports. Hosts in lobby were very welcoming and helpful. Only downside is no restaurant on the property, and the restaurants next door in Whale Harbor aren't the best, so you have to drive to better places. But the price was right, especially since we were very happy with our cottage by the sea.

We celebrated our five year anniversary here. We had an amazing time. Our room was nice. We had an oceanfront suite. Beautiful view. We loved the hotel amenities. The waters in our refrigerator everyday was a nice touch. But our favorite part was being able to use the kayaks which was included in the resort fee. The continental breakfast was yummy. The hotel was not crowded at all. It was perfect. Very very relaxing!! I would recommend this resort !!

We had booked 3 nights at this "resort". When we checked in, we were supposed to have a king size bed, instead we found out that even though when we booked online and requested a king bed, the type of room that we booked was not even offered in a king size bed. When we asked to be changed to a different room, we were told that there was nothing available. It went downhill from there! First there was less than a 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with no other roll in sight. We went to the office to get another roll. Then we realized at about 9 at night that the sliding glass door on our ground level room did not lock. We did not try it earlier and left all of our things in an unlocked room. We reported it to the office and were told that they would send someone to fix it. Well after waiting an hour, we went back to the office and asked for a change in rooms, we were told that they would fix it & than sent someone to our room. They did get it to lock - but we were told that it would be best if we did not open it. The last thing ,also that first night, was that the handle that flushes the toilet broke off! The next morning we again reported it to the office, we told them that if ALL of the problems were not fixed in the room, we were leaving. We took most of our things in our car because of the unlocked door situation and when we returned to our room later that day everything was fixed. We felt that being on vacation, it should not be our problem to get ALL of these things fixed. We were just VERY disappointed with the room and the way that it was handled!
