Description: In the Florida Keys you'll find this old Keys-style marina and fish shack "somewhere on A1A." A true conch atmosphere with many tasty delights, here in this Florida Keys restaurant you'll find yourself indulged in the Caribbean-inspired cuisine, the compassionate people and old Keys tranquility that is the Hungry Tarpon restaurant in Islamorada. The building has been standing since 1947 and with a home like Robbie's of Islamorada, plus a fascinating history, it all makes the Hungry Tarpon a part of the tradition since 1976. Enjoy dining on our bayside deck with tiki torches lighting up the night. Relax with friends over our fabulous appetizers and watch the boats come and go. Stroll our open air shops then wander to our sandy beach, melt into one of our bayside lounge chairs and let the sea air wash away the rush of the day.

The kids had a ball hand feeding the local tarpon at the dock. Too bad they didn't make the same effort to serve quality food. The lobster bisque was awful. Puréed with anything but lobster. Fried seafood had far too much breeding. Shrimp and hamburger were both good. With not many family restaurants to chose from this was a default. I would look elsewhere

nothing fancy, but a nice place to grab a bite, whether lunch or dinner. Casual, quaint and relaxing.
Dont be put off by "rustic" nature!

If youre not familiar, you need to make sure you walk on the docks, watch the folks (or partake yourself) in feeding the tarpon, if not local, youll enjoy!

Good food, reasonable prices, nothing negative about it, go, relax, and enjoy

Food was great. Service was good. Waterfront dinning and you can watch the tarpon feeding. Several great little shops right there at the marina.

Feed the tarpon and then sit dockside to enjoy watching others feed the tarpon while you enjoy your meal. The fish is average, however my wife's shrimp po boy was some of the best shrimp we have had on this trip.

We made an impromptu stop here while heading back north. We really enjoyed our stop at Robbie's Marina. We did a little shopping, fed the talons (very entertaining), watched the brown pelicans, and ate lunch at The Hungry Tarpon.

I enjoyed a blackened grouper sandwich and a couple of Red Stripe beers. My gal enjoyed a wedge salad. That with an appetizer cost us about $40. Hard to eat cheap in the Keys.

Service was slow- our waitress did inform us hat w
They were running behind. I did have to wait wag
Nile for my second beer. Still, it is such a great environment, so no. Orries for us.

Main complaint- bathrooms are uncomfortable- hot and not tht clean.

Overall, numbs up on the spot for he food and he atmosphere. It is a busy spot.
