Description: In the Florida Keys you'll find this old Keys-style marina and fish shack "somewhere on A1A." A true conch atmosphere with many tasty delights, here in this Florida Keys restaurant you'll find yourself indulged in the Caribbean-inspired cuisine, the compassionate people and old Keys tranquility that is the Hungry Tarpon restaurant in Islamorada. The building has been standing since 1947 and with a home like Robbie's of Islamorada, plus a fascinating history, it all makes the Hungry Tarpon a part of the tradition since 1976. Enjoy dining on our bayside deck with tiki torches lighting up the night. Relax with friends over our fabulous appetizers and watch the boats come and go. Stroll our open air shops then wander to our sandy beach, melt into one of our bayside lounge chairs and let the sea air wash away the rush of the day.

“Great meal, great prices!”

The staff, food and atmosphere is great. Prices are very reasonable. You won't be disappointed!

They have a nice outdoor seating area where you can watch the boats come in and enjoy the view.

“How can breakfast get any better?”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

En route from Fort Lauderdale to Key West, stopped in for a stretch break. Had been to Robbie's marina before for a similar rest-stop reason, but had not eaten there. This time, we were hungry and ready for breakfast - and truly, this R&R time eating breakfast, outside, in the south Florida sun, facing the water, was a chillaxin' highlight of our time in the Keys. Half of our large group had breakfast-y stuff, the other half had lunch-y stuff ... something about eating outside with the sun and breeze and boats and birds makes life seem oh-so-wonderful. Teens in our group got a kick out of doing the tarpon-viewing/feeding thing, adults just were completely content with morning coffees in hand to plan early retirement there. My grilled cheese was fresh and good, everyone else enjoyed their meals. Though food is secondary to the atmosphere. I envy people who can do this on a regular basis.

I live in South Florida, but love making a day trip to Robbie's Marina! I go for breakfast early in the morning (home style cooking)! Then you can go out on the docks and feed the Tarpon. Be there first thing in the morning....tarpon is hungry and put on a better show jumping out of the water to take the bait out of your hand. They are extremely large fish, very impressive! The kids love it...and so do I !!!!!

“A great keys experience”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

The Hungry Tarpon is part of Robbie's marina just south of Islamorada. It's a classic keys experience. Outside dining right at the marina. People feeding the huge tarpon (and the pelicans!). Food was great. Service a bit slow. The local vendors sell some great trinkets.
