“Did not feel welcome. Far from everything.”
Reviewed October 8, 2010

I won a room here from priceline and it makes perfect sense that they would be lacking for business. The check in was rushed and impersonal, even though there was no line behind me. Maybe it's because I only was getting a king room for two, not a large suite. I won't be staying here again in any case. The room was fine and new. I thought from the reviews, it would be small with no outside window. But it was a suitable size and had a view of outside. The water heater was scary though--it rattled so hard that I thought something was going to explode through the shower every time we took a bath. It was annoying not to have a self-serve ice machine or laundry services to dry clothes, instead needing to rely on housekeeping/room service. It rained the whole time we were there so we did not spend time in the beautiful pool area. When booking, I didn't want to be next to the crowds and noise, so I thought it would be fine to be on the far corner of the island, but this property was truly too far and inconvenient to rely on the once an hour hotel shuttle or taxi or worry about finding parking each time we went out. I'll stay closer to the action next time and not try my luck trying to save money with a random hotel from priceline.

I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. We were there for a wedding and made it into a mini-vacation. We were 20+ people and the pool was a great meeting point for us all. I would highly recommend the hotel for family reunions, weddings, any large group of family and friends. Here is one example of the service at this hotel, my 15 year old son left his passport in the room and only realized it when we got to the KW airport. My husband called the hotel, long story short, we were only steps away from boarding the plane, and an airport employee handed us my son's passport! The management went above and beyond.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Marriott Beachside. The stay was just right for us in terms of mix of relaxation and enjoying the night life of downtown Key West. We upgraded to one of the single room Presidential Suites. The room was fantastic - our only complaint was that we didn't enjoy it much as we were on the go most of the time. The poolside staff were fantastic. We rented bikes on site each day and rode the 3.5 miles into Key West, enjoyed ourselves and then road home. The ride is flat, with lots to look at along Smathers Beach, etc. Many folks think that the property is too far from downtown - and that might be the case - however we had no problems and we got a lot from the expirience of riding each day.
We also took part on one of the Jet Ski tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I would spend the money to do the trip. The breakfast buffet was really good, the hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. Enjoy the Key's!

Unless you get one of the big upgraded suites, you will hardly be able to move around. By the time we added our suitcases and computer, etc., there was no room to really get comfortable. The bathroom has very little counter space and is located right next to the bed. The one bedrooms have one window where people walk by and can look right in. The room was very clean, once we asked them to replace the big stained footstool that previously had something spilled all over it.

We did enjoy the bar with live music and good food but a very nice room is my priority.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this room took my breath away! It was fantastic and well worth upgrading from the standard. This suite was immaculate and bigger than most apartments. The bed was amazing, kitchen had the finest appliances, and the balcony was to die for. We spent a couple hours each evening just taking in the warm ocean breeze. This room had everything I could have asked for. We did laundry, it was nice to take clean clothes home!

Happy hour was excellent. I had no complaints about the pool.
We didn't find it to be cold or dirty at all.

Concierge was SO helpful. We booked the on site jet ski tour which was awesome! We saw a shark and a pod of dolphins super close. Chris was a great guide! Also enjoyed a sunset cruise. Thanks Toni for your help!

We were only going to stay one night but we begged to cancel our other reservation so we could stay another night. This place was pure luxury. Hotel shuttle was great. Was nice to stay a little further away from the chaos, yet be able to enjoy it when you want.

Thank you Marriott, this is just what we needed. We will be back!!!

One of the best hotels ever. Gourmet kitchen, oceanview, jacuzzi tub for two, private spiral staircase to the beach all in a contemporary design- gorgeous. This unit was like a condo and was a great value at $250 per night. We were thrilled and stayed a couple extra days. We really loved the breakfast buffet with food made to order- we gained a few pounds. The only downside was the pool was smelly and slimey and was well used being a little bit overcrowded at times. The staff was outstanding!! We are coming back soon.

Booked 4 nights here through Virgin Holidays. The room was a standard one on the front of hotel overlooking the road but there was very little noise from it. Although situated quite a way from downtown(Duval St etc) the complimentary shuttle bus was very useful and ran til 11pm. Had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was very good, the bar was well patronised most nights so had a good vibe and it had a happy hour which helps! Just wish the weather had been warmer as the pool area is very nice and would have liked a swim but it was freezing!
