“Amazing sunset cruise...lovely sail boat.”

I had an awesome time at the sunset cruise with my parents.

A big plus point : The ship was not over crowded like most of the other cruises there. There families with kids as well as young and senior couples. Such a diverse group of people but everyone was having fun on board and at the same time could enjoy having their own space and privacy.

Ship: The sail boat is one of a kind, with the traditional red colored sails. The ride was very relaxing. What could be better than sailing in the calm of the ocean with the beautiful sunset, in an amazing sail boat.

Crew: The crew was very friendly. They made sure each person on the ship was taken care of.

Fun part: you get to take your turn at the wheel!!! And they fire cannon shots too!!!

Would definitely love to sail again with Schooner Jolly II Rover. Amazing ship and awesome crew!!

We had originally booked an afternoon cruise on this ship, but when we arrived for boarding we learned that there were only 5 of us booked on the cruise and that they needed a 6th passenger to sail. They held the cruise open a while to see if a 6th person might show up, but no one did. We were given a few options: sail on an afternoon cruise the next day, sail on the sunset cruise that evening (that cruise is $10 more per person, but they would comp that additional cost) or we could split the cost of the 6th seat with the other passengers so we could sail. We wanted to split the 6th spot, but the others didn't so we took the sunset cruise option.

Although we were disappointed that we couldn't sail that afternoon, the sunset cruise ended up being a great choice. The sunset was just beautiful (and made for a great photo op) and the cruise was very relaxing. The crew was excellent. They were very friendly and made it a fun experience.

My husband, sister and I went for a sail on the Tall Ship Jolly II Rover on a beautiful, breezy day. It was a lovely trip of 2 hours and the crew were very nice and you could steer the boat or help raise the sails. Only water was served which was good as it kept the price lower and one could bring their own drinks also. It was a highlight of our stay in Key West.

My family and I just returned from the Sunset cruise on the Jolly 11 Rover. We looked for a sail that was family orientated and not a party boat. Could not have picked a better boat. The crew was awesome. Great personality on the young captain. Safety was explained after we boarded and everyone on the sail ride were considerate and respectful passengers.

With the majority of Key West's attractions being water based, it isn't surprising there are a lot of competing sunset cruises. If you are looking for a nice sunset cruise, the Jolly Rover is the way to go. We've done a couple of others, and this one by far had the best staff and was the most relaxing. It is a BYOB (Bring your Own Beverage), so you don't get the complimentary beer or wine many of the sunset cruises offer, but I liked it better this way for 3 reasons. The first being that it makes the price far more affordable. The second is that you can choose your drink and the third is that there are less drunk people.

Other ways this cruise was unique included the awesome captain (we had Rio) and staff who let you take turns actually driving the boat and manning the sales. The firing of the canons led to having a real pirate ship feel. Nothing felt rushed and everyone just felt intent on having a relaxing time.
