“No doubt her heart is in it!”

I would have liked to have seen the garden during its heyday. Financial problems have plagued this once popular attraction, but it was worth seeing anyway if you love birds! Not accessible too well, but do go and see and support this Rescue. The birds are receiving excellent care, and were very excited to see me! I got a lot of Hellos and whistles! Wish Nancy was around as I would have loved to meet and talk with her.

Awesome birds. So glad that there is someone like Nancy to love and care for them. I really enjoyed my visit.

“False Advertising”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

This place needs to change the name! There is no longer any garden here. I was hoping to visit a tropical garden and instead found a tiny, cramped back yard filed with bird cages.

Advertise it for what it is, a bird sanctuary.

Sad waste of my time and money when what I was looking for was a garden.

“One of the more unique experiences of KW.”

We fully agree with some of the other recent reviewers. Robin V's review from June 8th, 2012 was excellent and there's not much that we could add to her description. This is a parrot rescue and the birds are absolutely beautiful. From Nancy Forrester's website:

"Artist and environmental activist Nancy Forrester has been rescuing abused and orphaned parrots for 25 years...Help inspire the birds by spending time with them."

The $10 entry fee (per person) is small when you think about the costs/expenses associated with the running of any type of animal rescue. At first glance, you may think the backyard at the new location is small and that you will be able to see everything in just a few minutes. However, we found ourselves staying for over an hour. We spent a great deal of time talking w/ Nancy and viewing each of the birds. She brought a few of the birds out of their cages to show us up close. We even got to hold one of the birds on our arm.

On a side note, this is a new location and there is no large "secret garden" any more. Make note of the new address - it is very close to the original address (just around the corner). We're not bird-lovers, but both of our dogs came from a rescue and we know/understand the important roles that animal rescues play.

We spent a very enjoyable hour w/ Nancy and her birds today. We recommend that any animal-lover spend some time visiting w/ Nancy and her wonderful birds. I spent almost $10 on a crummy pina colada today. My $10 was much, much better spent contributing to the care and maintenance of the birds at Nancy Forrester's. We would certainly visit again.

“Rescued Parrots”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

They really need to change the name, there is no garden here but there are lots of parrots, all of them rescued. One of them Mr. Peachy, you can hold but not pet. Don't touch the rest. They are fun to look at and listen too! Some will soon be extinct in the wild. The place appears to need some financial help, but the birds are happy and well taken care of.
