I offer yet another glowing review of the Santa Maria Suites after our family of four stayed here in early July. This is a well-managed boutique hotel in a great location, only a block from the beach and the non-busy end of Duval Street. The pool area is lovely, and the suites are absolutely gorgeous with all the amenities and then some. You could easily settle in here for a week and cook terrific meals in the well-equipped kitchen with all the ultra-modern appliances. It is very handy to have a washer and dryer in the unit as well. The staff is very service-minded and accommodating. The beds are comfy, and even the sleeper sofa is fine. You can tell the owner pays attention to details here.

There are just 35 units so it is a cozy atmosphere. The complimentary muffins, Dove ice cream bars, smoothies and wine by the pool are fantastic! We loved this place and would definitely stay here again.

We had a good time staying at this hotel. The most important thing for me is cleaniness and this hotel is clean. Rooms are spacious.

The many great reviews speak for themselves. We had a great time at the Santa Maria. Ken and Wolfgang took great care of us. I would highly recommend and will never stay anywhere else when in Key West. Close to the beach and to Duval, yet far enough away to get away and relax if you want to. The small grocery store across the street had an amazing cuban sandwich and Louie's Backyard was a short block away. Food is amazing. Thanks again for a great time.

Just returned from Key West today. We were 2 couples and found this place on Trip Advisor. We got a 2 bedrooms unit (each bedroom with a king bed, flat screen TV and private bathroom, one with a private balcony), 2 and a half bath unit with a full, very modern kitchen and living room (with a large flat screen TV and entertainment receiver) as well as wifi and wired network access and private balcony off the living room and another off the kitchen. The nightly turndown service with chocolates on the pillows and mini-Dove bars in the freezer are a very nice touch.

Santa Maria Suites is located at the end of Simonton St, one property from the beach and one street over from Duval St. The Reach Resort is next door – on the beach. They have an agreement with another hotel a block away to use that hotel’s beach, but, in truth, you can just walk from Santa Maria Suites right onto the Reach’s property and go to that beach. This resort is about 2 blocks from the marker for the Southernmost Point, putting it on the opposite end of Duval St from Mallory Square. This is the quieter end of town – lots to do but quieter at night. Last time we were in Key West, we stayed at the Pier House (on Mallory Square) – very nice but far from intimate due to the crowds. If you’re not familiar with Key West and Duval St, it’s about 1 ½ miles from one end of Duval to the other, a very easy walk filled with literally hundreds of restaurants and shops along the way.

The rooms all encircle 2 pools, making the resort very private. I must specifically mention Derek, who was the combination concierge / pool attendant. He helped us with suggestions for activities (we rented motor scooters as well as took a jet ski tour of the island), restaurants and sites to see. He also provided us with the complimentary smoothies and fresh fruit (all day) and complimentary drinks and snacks (happy hour).
We met folks staying at Santa Maria Suites from all over the world. The focal point of the resort is the pool, and we got to know many of them while lounging by the pool or wading in it.

The price is great. For all of the amenities described, it ran us about $350 / day (total – not per couple), far less than 2 rooms at a “regular” hotel, with value worth far more. There is no question that, upon our return to Key West in the future, we will stay here again.

After we called off a trip to Toronto for baseball due to the G20 summit taking place, we decided to go to Key West. We had been there twice in the past and had stayed at the Hilton, (now the Westin) and the Southernmost on the Beach and liked both. After reading Trip Advisor we thought we would try the Santa Maria. There is no point in writing any kind of review . All one has to do is read what most others say about this hotel. It is the best, From the suites to the pool to the staff to whatever it is the best. Enough said, we will return. (If I can shake my addiction to the mini Dove bars and muffins) The Coronas downed while sitting around the pool aint bad either. Many thanks to everybody at the hotel. Super people.

We are originally from Miami, and know the Keys. 2 parents, our kid, plus mother in law wanted to visit Key West. Needing 2 rooms (cuz of mother in law, don't want to have 4 in one room), we found Santa Maria. Our price was about $375 pre tax, which is about the same as 2 hampton suites or whatever

Even better-- the free smoothy, the pool, the wonderful desk people....added to visit. Room is exceptional--even had washer and dryer.

Location is 1 blok from beach (private, but this hotel has prviileges there :). The core of downtown is about 1 mile away. We saw a lot of people walking, but we spent the $5 to park up in town.

I think the Service, and Room quality are what made this place great.

Stayed at Santa Maria Suites the 2nd week of June for 4 days and the only bad thing about it was leaving. Check in was fast and easy, and we were upgraded to a pool level suite by Steve and Nordi. These 2 guys work very hard to make sure you have everything you need, and it seems like they never leave the property. Derek bartends by the pool, playing his own arrangment of very good music, making free smoothies ( he puts your favorite mixer in for a small price) and will also suggest and make reservations for dining. Prime 951 rocks by the way, best beef filet in th Keys! The maids are always doing a great job leaving your suite spotless and if this was not enough, they give you a free happy hour poolside 4:00 to 5:30. Going back ASAP. Thanks everyone at Santa Maria.
