We came to Key West to celebrate a milestone birthday & wanted a place to stay that had Old Town Key West charm. Caribbean House was the perfect choice. It’s charming inside & out with cozy/comfortable rooms with A/C & private bath. Free breakfast with complimentary mimosas, honor bar for afternoon or eve beverage, and snacks too. Very friendly staff. Rooms are bright & very clean & include a daily wake up call from the indigenous KW Roosters! Many bars, restaurants, shopping & sites within walking distance, or you can ride the Duval Loop bus for free. There is a stop at Petronia & Whitehead, & it’s air conditioned. We recommend these restaurants too: Conch Shack on Duval B/T Greene & Front St. the conch fritters are by far the best in KW. For ceviche, head to the wharf & try the ceviche flight at Turtle Kraals. Another favorite for Caribbean/Latin food is Bien. It’s on Eaton near Grinnell. The “Press” sandwich came highly recommended to us & we pass the same to you. It’s the best Cuban-style sandwich we had anywhere. The West Caribbean Bowl at Bien is another favorite. It’s enough for two light eaters & is a delicious combination of flavors. Best Bloody Mary is at Old Town Tavern on Duval. Best sunset was at FORT ZACHARY TAYLOR HISTORIC STATE PARK. We had a picnic on the beach, then watched the sunset as the sailboats drifted by. Tip: best sunsets are on partly cloudy days. All of these locations are near a stop on the Duval Loop but you can get there on foot from Caribbean House too. Hope you enjoy your stay at Caribbean House & have fun exploring Key West. Be sure to get your picture at the Southernmost Point.

We Came Down to Key West to spread my boyfriend’s Dad’s ashes and what could have been a very difficult stay ended up being an amazing week for us both! All of the staff was incredible and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to have a great time! The complimentary breakfast was more than we had anticipated with free mimosas every morning and fresh fruit, bagels and pastries and more! They were very flexible with us, allowing us to reserve a parking spot for my boyfriends family when they drove down from further up north for the ceremony. With parking so few and far between in key west $15 for the whole day was more than reasonable! Plus, the location here is just perfect! We were able to walk pretty much everywhere, from Fort Zachary to visit the beach to Duval Street and Mallory Square. If you’re worried about walking, the bus stop for the Free Duval Loop Bus is just two blocks away and they give you a map upon arrival! We had a great stay and we plan to return to the Carribean House the next time we are in Key West!

Fantastic, centrally located small inn 2 short blocks off of Duval —across the street from the Blue Heaven in funky little Bahama Village. Small local grocer next door to buy snacks and sodas. Bike rentals on site. Parking spaces out front that can be reserved for a small fee (worth every penny). As others have said: rooms are small but space is utilized wisely. Luggage can be stored under the bed, there is a small hanging rack, dresser. Tile showers with luxury spray nozzles, unlimited high end shampoo and shower gel. A lot of selection for breakfast each morning starting at 830– though many of the offerings are typical store bought pastries, waffles, breads that you toast or microwave. The flavored cream cheeses, hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit nice touches. Coffee normally available around 745 AM. The complimentary mimosas a big hit for many. Bistro tables on the second floor deck to sit and watch the world go by. Yes there are roosters in the empty lot next door but with AC on, they didn’t wake us up. This is not the place for those looking for fancy frills but it is clean, comfortable, and convenient. Check their website for very accurate pictures of the rooms and get additional discount for booking direct.

Carribean House is definitely somewhere I will return to. Very friendly and helpful. Rooms bright and clean. An advantage is that it is near a the best beach on the island at Fort Zacary Taylor State Park.
