Owner description: The Eco-Discovery Center features more than 6,000 square feet of interactive exhibits, which interpret the resources and management efforts of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, two national parks, and four national wildlife refuges. Check out the exhibit on Aquarius, the world's only underwater ocean laboratory, the Living Reef exhibit, which includes a 2,500-gallon reef tank with living corals and tropical fish, the live Reef Cam, and other displays that highlight the coral reef environment. The Center is located in NOAA’s Dr. Nancy Foster Florida Keys Environmental Complex on the Truman Annex waterfront in Key West. Admission is always free (and so is parking), so be sure to stop by for a visit!

We went there after our tour on the coast guard ship museum USS Ingham. It is full air conditioned which is a plus after the temperatures on and in the ship. Very interesting for smaller kids. Our son was not so impressed as we saw a lot of the animals and corals during our snorkeling tour with Floridays. But this shouldn't rate this venue down.

We stopped by on a bike ride. We weren't expecting much, but we were very surprised. The exhibits are well-designed and the staff was very knowledgeable. Plus, it's free! A great place for families, too.

This is a welcome break from the heat, and a gat place to learn about the ecosystems of Key West. They have one room with displays showing the different land habitats, and one explaining water habitats. There are a lot of interactive digital media which kids like. The video is also interesting and plays every 30 minutes. There are a few small aquariums with fish, and this was the first place I had ever seen a live conch feeding.

This was a perfect little spot for the kids to learn about the local eco system on their level. It was hands on so it kept them occupied for quite some time. Please consider watching the movie also, it was very informative. The best thing of all, it was free.

This was a great educational exhibit to take the kids to cool off after a day at Ft. Zach. I enjoyed my self as well. It's free(the only thing in KW I've found). Well worth a quick visit.
