Albury Court Hotel in Key West
Reviewed December 12, 2013

We recently stayed at the Albury Court with some friends, travelling down from Sebring, FL. Perfectly located just minutes walk from Duval and Mallory Square - wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for us; very pleasant, comfortable room with large walk-in shower, ample continental style breakfast served around the pool. Would DEFINITELY stay there again.

Just got back from staying at Albury Court and cant say anything but good stuff about it, from the check in (which we just by chance walked in), to the room. The breakfast was nice including very tasty coffee. The location was fantastic being so close to everything but far enough away from the busyness, we rented bikes which were only about a block and a half away, and there is a bike rack right at the hotel to lock them up. The room was nice with a nice bed and a large walk in shower. Everyone was very pleasant. We cant wait to stay here again

The Albury Court Hotel is a nice mid-priced hotel well situated in Old Town Key West. The room I had was on the top floor and had windows to a walkway and a skylight for extra light. The room was well furnished, clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated 10 - 15 minutes walk to Duval Street which is close enough for access but far enough away to be quiet!

Breakfast is provided by the pool and seating area and consists of cereal, coffee, tea, croissants, bagels jam etc. The reception staff were particularly helpful.

Just a few small niggles though. First breakfast by the pool was lovely - when the weather is good. When the weather doesn't cooperate there is nowhere else to eat breakfast except to take it to your room. My room didn't have a table which meant sitting on the bed with breakfast in my lap - not that comfortable. Second niggle was the bedding, though I realise it may be a personal niggle! The bed was very comfortable but the bottom sheet was too small for the bed and didn't tuck under the mattress all the way round. The consequence was I ended up wrapped up in the bottom sheet and sorting out where I had to get in after a trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night was a challenge! Not sure why this arose but it meant I didn't sleep as well as I might have. .Finally the a/c - great to have and very effective, but the location of the bed in relation to the a/c unit meant when it kicked in I was getting cold air blown directly at me so if I had the a/c on at night I was woken up by an icy blast.

Would I stay there again? Most certainly, it's a nice place. But remember the adage about the lack of a halfpenny worth of tar spoiling the ship? That was how I felt about the Albury Court.

One night prior to our arrival we made our reservation for two rooms. We arrived at hotel at noon to get map and parking info. Much to our surprise our rooms were available. Front desk staff was friendly and check-in was quick. Rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. Fridge in room was handy. Continental breakfast by the pool included great coffee. Walking distance to Duval Street and the Key West Marina. Limited parking is available around hotel. We were told there is a parking garage located a couple of blocks away. We were able to find a parking spot around the hotel and didn't move our vehicle for the duration of our stay. Will definitely return to Albury Court!

Room Tip: Bring some comfortable shoes. No need to move your car since everything is located within walking d...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in October 2013, the check in was really welcoming, even telling us of local places to eat and drink. The room was clean and well presented with an ample sized bathroom. Housekeeping was great, coming in daily. All the staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was okay with a good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts and pastries, which we often took back to our room to eat. The hotel is situated in a quieter part of Key West a few blocked back from Duval Street, don't let the walk put you off booking this quaint, well looked after hotel it is worth the 10 minute walk to the tourist parts. I would certainly stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends. We loved the whole experience.

On May 30, 2013 I reserved and paid in full, on my Discover card, for accommodations at Albury Court Hotel, Key West Florida October 22 thru 26. When we arrived the accommodations were not what I was led to expect. We complained the first morning of our stay and were told an adjustment would be made. When we checked out they refused to make an adjustment as promised. We would have moved the first day, but were unable to find other accommodations, as this is a very busy time in Key West. The “pool” is in reality a large hot tub with non-operating heat. There is no microwave in the room or at the continental breakfast with one of the items a ham and cheese breakfast pastry. The bathroom is small with no place to put toiletries or hang clothing. If you are in building B as we were the water feature, continental breakfast, ice machine and office are across a very busy street. The beds are a box with slats and a mattress on top so you constantly stub a toe or scrape your shin. While it is common in Key West for accommodations to be a number of formally private residences cobbled together Albury Court is not a hotel and is far below Key West standards.

Hello Lee,

Thank you for your feedback, as guest satisfaction is very important to us. Part of the charm of this Historic Key West Inn is that the accommodations are scattered throughout five historic conch-style buildings, each with typical Key West architecture such as clapboard siding and metal roofs, instead of being in one modern cookie-cutter style building. The buildings do share a courtyard, waterfall pool and lobby. As with many inns in Key West, the pool is more of a refreshing "dipping pool" rather than a lap pool. Nice for a cool dip after a warm, sunny day! Please feel free to contact me directly about your experience if you would like to, and thank you again for being our guest. msimmons@historickeywestinns.com
