“Good Place To Stay”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

We chose this hotel for it's location near the historic harbor (within walking distance) and because we like to stay in places that are a little different than the typical chain hotel. Albury Court is a complex of several different homes or commercial buildings that have been converted for lodging. Because of how the court developed it appeared to me that there is little uniformity between the rooms. When looking at the reviews or booking a room one should take this into consideration.
The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. They provided an area map, suggestions on how to get around, recommendations on where to dine and what to see.
Parking is an issue in Key West and we were fortunate to get a place right next to the entry to our building. Once parked we didn't move the car until it was time to leave Key West. What you couldn't walk to was easily reached by trolley, bus or bike.
Our room (B08) was located in the building across the street from the lobby. The room was very quiet and recently redecorated. The room was clean and everything worked. Two picky comments about the room. First, When they remodeled they had an"interlocking/floating" wood floor installed. It appears that the installer didn't leave enough room for expansion and now the floor has started to buckle. When walked on, the flood loudly snaps and cracks. Second, other than three pegs on the wall, there wasn't adequate space to hang clothes. Granted, in this room, anything other than the pegs would have killed the look the decorator was going for. Apparently we aren't the first people to complain about the pegs. On the morning of our second day I found hangers in the bottom of the chest of drawers. Using the hangers on the pegs would be an improvement, but still inadequate except for the shortest of stays. The room had a nice sized refrigerator and ceiling fan. The wall safe was appreciated.

The continental breakfast was adequate. No more, no less. So many hotels now offer waffles, pancakes, hard boiled eggs or sausage as part of a continental breakfast that finding only the basics (cereal, toast, sweet rolls, etc.) was a little surprising. Being told there was no artificial sweetener, only raw sugar, was definitely surprising. I'm guessing this was more a matter of the hostess not wanting to leave the breakfast area to get sweetener rather than not having any on the premises.

Overall, the staff was great, the location perfect for our needs, it was clean and quiet. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: It appears that the rooms vary greatly in size, noise (due to location), etc. Check room numbers whe...

We expected a one room, double queen bed accommodation and got much more from a layout standpoint. The room was large with two separate bedroom areas, clean, comfortable, had a private roof top balcony off to the side, a small kitchenette. The biggest pleasant surprise was the layout of the rooms and comfortable arrangement. Great for two couples or a family of 4. Location is awesome! Check-in and check-out was pleasant, easy; the staff was helpful and very kind. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. It's totally over-rated and not worth the extra $$. It will no longer be a deciding factor.

Room Tip: Room A22 recommended for family of 4 or/and 4 friends.

We were most pleased with this location. However, if you are looking for a high quality continental breakfast, you won't find it here. The breakfast offers very basic cereals, yogurt, bagels, and hot beverages. We stayed in A22, which features 2 queen beds, a lovely deck, and a spacious bathroom with a small jacuzzi and shower stall. The beds are in semi-private nooks that make this room perfect for 2 couples traveling together. The location is about a 10 minute walk to Duval Street, so it is in a quiet location.

Clean , quaint, great location. My only problem was my room, number 8. Had friends staying in rooms 1 and 2 and they were comfortable, quiet, and roomy. My room, located directly on the pool was noisy, people coming in and out of the gate( attached to the wall of the room)made it sound like someone moving furniture all night. The lights from the pool, street and other rooms shined directly i.n room.I should have asked for a change as soon as the girl showing us the room said ,and I quote"unfortunatly we have you in room number 8", Breakfast is served right outside this room so there is no privacy unless you draw all the shades on all the windows(4)
I would stay here again, just not in room number 8

The friendly and helpful staff greeted us as we arrived. There is no hotel parking but the staff will tell you how to find a free street parking spot. Nice rooms in an old house in the old part of Key West. Less than ten minutes easy walk to Duvall street so the location is great. Very good breakfast by the tiny pool.

Older building converted into hotel rooms. The room was on the main floor across the street from the "lobby". We were two couples and found the room suitable for our one night stay. The real downside is that it was very noisy. We felt like we were sleeping on the street as we could hear people walking by and the constant flow of traffic. Got worse when an emergency vehicle went by. The room was clean, no bugs noticeable, the bathroom and shower were spacious and functional. A small kitchenette with coffee maker, downsize fridge and microwave. Continental breakfast by the pool had good selection and was well stocked. Would not recommend for more than one night if you have a room facing the street.

We have stayed here twice now and both times were very nice. The hotel has been rennovated within the last few years and is very fresh and nice. Room sizes vary greatly and some are quite small with only hang-up pegs rather than a regular closet, but for a short stay in a sunny resort area this is adequate. This time we had a larger room with closet and even a small fireplace wich was very nice. Daily Contenental breakfast is wholesome with yogurt and a selection of breads and cereals, fresh fruit, and most importantly coffee! Bike rental ius 2 block away and very useful as many of the attractions are several blocks or more away.

Room Tip: Select a room in the "A" building for a larger (but more expensive" stay
