“Great tapas”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

We love tapas and decided on Santiago's this night because we were going on a sunset sail trip which features all-you-can-eat steamed shrimp and other hors d’oeuvres and figured that we wouldn't be hungry enough for a normal entree-sized meal. Four tapas at Santiago's were just right. It was so good that we went back for lunch the next day and tried four more dishes. It brought back memories of our trip to San Sebastian, Spain, though the dishes here are not necessarily Spanish. Our favorites were the beef carpaccio and the cherry-hoisin glazed short ribs. After lunch, the waiter asked us what our favorite dish was. We told him the short ribs and he handed us a copy of the recipe!

No matter what kind of food you like, you should be able to find something you love here. Vegetarians should have no trouble putting a meal together and there are 3-4 vegan dishes.

Santiago's is located in a relatively quiet section of Key West (Bahama Village). We had OpenTable reservations for dinner but had no problem getting a table immediately for lunch on a Monday afternoon without a reservation.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed November 20, 2013 via mobile

Had the most wonderful meal last night at Santiago's. Scallops special and duck flat bread special were great. Off the regular menu Brussels sprouts, shorts ribs and spinach pie were excellent. Chocolate cake for dessert was incredible. Since we only made a small dent in menu we will have to go back. Art on the walls and interesting chandeliers made for a fun room to dine in. Outside seating too.

“Great find”
Reviewed November 19, 2013 via mobile

Pear and avocado salad was a perfect start. Loved the tenderloin w blue cheese and lamb (even though a little over done). Dates with goat cheese was also another must. For a Monday, it was very busy. We were surprised. Would have loved more water. We will try their restaurant in Orlando now.

“small portion big taste”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Wife & I had dinner here on 9/17/13 after meeting the head Chef of Santiago's on the Islescape dinner cruise. I don't like trying different food but after getting the inside scoop from Jose, I gave it a try. Our server Monica, was very knowledgeable and helpful in suggestions from the menu. First off, we wanted to go during happy hour to drink. My wife said the Sangria's were the best she ever tasted and I had my favorite draft beer. Big mistake. The food was soooo good we would rather eat.
We started with a salad with duck conduit. Monica warned us it was enough to share. The taste of duck on a salad was different to us. We would choose not to order the salad again now knowing how good the food is. An appetizer we had was crab cakes followed by cheese quesadilla's and Monica then suggested the short ribs to go with that as well. The ribs were literally fall off the bone. We then ordered potato croquettes and pork skewers. We managed to find room to stuff ourselves with bread pudding for dessert. After devouring the food, Chef Jose paid us a visit to see if we enjoyed the dinner. We assured him this was the best meal we had ever had and thanked him for such a great dinner. Needless to say we did not eat for 12 hours after this meal.
When my wife explains our experience here, she says the food is orgasmic. Yes the food is that good.
The residents of Key West don't know how lucky they are to have such a great restaurant. This place will always be #1 on our to do list when visiting Key West.
